This wonderful tour to Egypt is like a concentrated dose of exploring all the fascinating monuments of Luxor and Aswan together in one travel package. Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Luxor & Tour to the East Bank (No Meals)

Morning time, arrival to Luxor Airport, where you will be met with GAT Tours’ Representative, your best friend for the coming few days, who will help and assist you in all formalities inside the airport. Then, he will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Luxor for check in, rest and refresh.
Afternoon, we will start our land tour in Luxor by exploring the East Bank of Luxor, where we can visit the Temple of Karnak, the largest Pharaonic temple complex in the world. Constructed over a period of more than one thousand years, almost all the impressive items of the Karnak we see today date back to the new kingdom specially the huge amazing columns of the hypostyle hall which are constructed by Ramses II, the greatest builder of ancient Egypt.

We will then proceed to visit Luxor Temple, another startling temple which was established around the 14th century BC and the construction continued for many years afterwards by Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and many other Pharaohs. The temple is featured with its variety of design outlines and architecture. This is besides the huge two statues of Ramses II which ornaments the façade of the temple.

After this amazing tour, we will transfer you to your hotel in Luxor for rest and refresh. Evening time is free at leisure on your own to relax at the hotel or you can go for an optional tour in Luxor to enjoy your night.

Day 2Tour to the West Bank (Breakfast & Lunch)

Enjoy your Open Buffet Breakfast at the hotel. Later on, you’ll join our expert, Egyptologist, tour guide in such awe-inspiring tour to the West Bank of Luxor, including the royal tombs of Valley of the Kings, the richest and most fascinating ancient tombs in Egypt. This was the burial site of the kings from the New Kingdom. This includes the marvelous tomb of Tutankhamen, discovered intact by Howard Carter in 1922 as the most important archeological discovery in the 20th century. The tombs are featured with marvelous wall painting which survived until today.
After that, we will proceed to visit Temple of Deir Elbahari, which was constructed during the reign of the 18th dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest rulers of Egypt. The Temple is featured with its many terraces, the statues of the Queen with a beard, and its magnificent location carved out of one of the great mountains of Thebes.

Our last visit at the West Bank will be to the Colossi of Memnon, these two huge statues are the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III constructed in 1350 BC and became a landmark of Luxor afterwards.

Later on, we will have a short break for lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, we will continue our tour by visiting the Luxor Museum, which contains a modest collection of the highest quality artworks dating from the Pre-dynastic Period right through to the Islamic era. The modern building is extremely spacious with plenty of room to move around and view beautifully displayed objects and sculpture in peaceful low-lit surroundings. The perfect place to spend a hot morning in Luxor.

Finally, we will visit the Mummification Museum, a new museum dedicated to the illustration and the documentation of the mummification process in ancient Egypt including the tools, substances, mummies, coffins, and other interesting items from the mortuary scene in ancient Egypt. After this amazing day tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Luxor for rest and refresh. Day 3Tour to Edfu and Kom Ombo temples (Breakfast)

Energizing breakfast at your hotel in Luxor. Later on, we will drive towards Aswan by our private Air-conditioned vehicle, so that we can complete our amazing land tour in Luxor and Aswan. Distance between both cities is around 215 KM, takes almost three hours driving by car. On the way to Aswan, we will stop for two visits; The first visit will be to Temple of Horus in Edfu, the finest preserved ancient Egyptian temple in the land of the Nile. It was constructed by the Ptolemies in the 3rd century BC for the worship of the god Horus. The temple is featured with its marvelous stone columns and fascinating wall carvings.
We will then continue the way towards Aswan. Our second visit will be to Temple of Kom Ombo, established in the Ptolemaic period and completed in the Roman era, the temple is dedicated to two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. This was why the temple was divided into two sections; one for each god.

Here, the second part of our land tour in Luxor and Aswan should be started! We arrive to Aswan by afternoon time, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check in, rest and refresh. Evening time is free at leisure on your own in Aswan, so you can relax at the hotel or you can go for an optional tour in Aswan to enjoy your night.

Day 4The High Dam, Philae temple & Felucca ride in Aswan (Breakfast)

Enjoy your Buffet Breakfast at the hotel. Later on, you’ll join our expert tour guide in an amazing day tour in Aswan, where you are going to see the High Dam, constructed in the 1960s by the former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser. The dam helped Egypt to store the water from the flood of the River Nile and it also generates a large volume of the electricity of Egypt. It is also considered to be a great architectural achievement.
We will then ride in a motorboat to reach Agilika Island, the new location of the marvelous Temple of Philae, constructed in the 3rd century BC in the Greco Roman era as the center of the worship of the goddess Isis. It is one of the most remarkable ancient Egyptian temples that were relocated after the construction of the High Dam and the water of the River Nile affected many historical monuments, the temple was transferred under a huge project funded by many nations and supervised by the UNESCO.

Afternoon enjoying the nice breeze of the Nile with a felucca ride around the Islands in Aswan. The Felucca tour starts with the Elephantine Island, a beautiful place to visit, with wonderful gardens and some truly significant artifacts. It’s considered to be the largest of the Aswan area islands, and is one of the most ancient sites in Egypt. We will also have a view of Agha Khan Mausoleum and chance to enter the beautiful botanical garden in Aswan.

Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Aswan for rest and refresh. Evening time is yours to relax at the hotel or you can go for an optional tour in Aswan to enjoy your night.
