Program Itinerary:

Beijing

Arrival in Beijing, transfer to the hotel, rest of the day at leisure.

Beijing

Today you will visit Tian’anmen Square, located in the center of Beijing City. There you can find the Tiananmen Tower, the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and the national flag raising ceremony. You will also visit the Forbidden City, called ‘Gu Gong’ in Chinese. It was the imperial palace for twenty-four emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then you will see Hutong with a rickshaw including a lunch in a local family. Hutong is famous for its water wells. Then afternoon visit to the Temple of Heaven, China’s the largest and most representative existing masterpiece. Evening, enjoy a Kung fu Show, where you will discover this prestigious Chinese martial art. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Beijing

Today you will visit the amazing Great Wall at Mutianyu Section. The Great Wall of China was built to keep out invaders as well as to retain the inhabitants. Later on, we will stop for photo-taking (from outside) of Bird Nest, situated in the Olympic Green Village, Chaoyang District. It was designed to be the main stadium of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Now, it’s the center of international or domestic sports competitions and recreation activities. Also we will stop at the Water Cube to take photos (from outside). Its official name is National Aquatics Center and it was also built for the swimming competitions of the 2008 Summer Olympics. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Beijing - Shanghai

Free day at leisure before transferring you to the railway station for a high-speed train Shanghai. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Shanghai

Visit the beautiful Yuyuan Garden, which occupies an area of 20,000 square meters (about five acres). Its pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics. There are six main scenic areas here: Sansui Hall, Wanhua Chamber, Dianchun Hall, Huijing Hall, Yuhua Hall and the Inner Garden. Each area features several scenic spots within its borders. This day you will also explore the Jade Buddha Temple. It has two precious jade Buddhist statues which are not only rare cultural relics but also porcelain artworks. Both the Sitting Buddha and the Recumbent Buddha are carved with whole white jade. Later on you will enjoy 1 hour boat ride along the Huangpujiang River, and the Bund. Huangpu River is not only the mother river of Shanghai, which divides the city into east and west parts, but also assembles the splendid attractions of the city. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Shanghai

Day trip to Zhujiajiao, a nearby Water Town, where you could enjoy at your own a boat ride along the zigzag rivers and bridges. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Shanghai - Guillin

Transfer to the airport for flight to Guilin. Visit Reed Flute Cave if time permits it. The Reed Flute Cave is a brilliant cave that got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it, with which people make flutes. Inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)

Guillin

Enjoy a tour to Longsheng Rice Terraces. The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountain top, between 600 m to 800 m above sea level. A coiling terrace line that starts from the mountain foot up to the mountain top divides the mountain into layers of water in spring, layers of green rice shoots in summer, layers of rice in fall, and layers of frost in winter. The terraced fields were mostly built about 650 years ago. We will also visit to the nearby Yao minority village to experience the unique Chinese ethnic culture. The Yao women wear bright pink embroidered clothing with heavy silver earrings and they are famous for their extremely long hair and are listed in the Guinness Book of World’s Records.

Guilin - Yangshuo - Hong Kong

Today you will experience the magic of Li River, by a cruise to Yangshuo. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Enjoy a walking tour to the nearby village before flying to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. (Meals: breakfast and lunch)
