Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival to Cairo Int. Airport

Upon your arrival to Cairo International Airport, GAT Tours’ representative will be waiting for you to assist with all that you may need during your stay in E|gypt. 

He will take you with an air-conditioned vehicle and a qualified, friendly driver to your hotel in Cairo. You will check in the hotel and  proceed to your nice room to have some rest before the beginning of your awesome tour in Cairo (No Meals)

Day 2Pyramids Sakkara Memphis

After breakfast, you will be met with our professional Egyptologist who will join you today in order to add more amazement to your trip. Your unique tour in Cairo starts with The Pyramids of Giza, the most popular monument in the world. Constructed around 2500 BC as the necropolis of the kings of the forth dynasty, there is the pyramid of Cheops or the Grand Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the smaller pyramid of Menkaure, and the marvelous sphinx constructed with a body of a lion and the head of a human to guard the pyramids from any threats.

Our next stop will be to Saqqara, the royal burial site of the 3rd dynasty of the Old Kingdom in Egypt and one of the richest archeological places in Egypt with treasures being discovered until today. The highlight and the centerpiece of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest surviving stone monument in the whole world and the first proper pyramid to ever be constructed in Egypt in the 27th century BC. This would be a marvelous chance to understand the evolution of the pyramids building in ancient Egypt. The step pyramid is considered to be one of the most important landmarks of pyramids construction in Egypt.

Our last stop of the day will be to Memphis, the first capital of unified Egypt. Established in 32nd century BC by King Narmer after he unified Upper and Lower Egypt. The city served as the seat of the government until the 22nd century. However, all the displayed exhibited in the open-air museum we will explore today belong to the New Kingdom with the highlights being the amazing Colossi of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx, and many other statues and items.

Later on, you will proceed to have the lunch meal at local restaurant. After lunch we will drive back to the hotel for rest and refresh. At night, free at leisure on your own in Cairo or (Optional) Sound & light show at Giza pyramids, where the startling sphinx will tell you the whole story and history behind the creation of the pyramids in an entertaining blend of sounds and lights. Day 3Museum Citadel Old Cairo

Don’t miss your first breakfast meal at your hotel in Cairo then get ready to join your expert tour guide in a wonderful tour in the city center of Cairo. 

Your visits will start by exploring The Egyptian Museum which is one one of the greatest museums in the world that include a huge collection of displays for ancient Egyptian history. These displays are like the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, large impressive reliefs, statues, and many other fascinating items.

Your next visit will be to the Citadel that was constructed by Saladin in the 10th century in order to protect Egypt from the enemies. The citadel hosts 2 marvelous Mosques  like the famous Mosque of Mohamed Ali and the Mosque of El Nasser Mohamed. There are also some interesting museums to learn more about Egypt at various periods of time.  For the fun part, you can enjoy having amazing pictures at the panoramic views of the city of Cairo. 

Later on, you will be having your lunch meal at one of the best local restaurants in Cairo where you will enjoy the Egyptian food.

After lunch we will proceed to visit the Coptic Cairo where you will start with the Hanging Church. This Church was first established in the 5th century and it is considered one of the most important historical churches in Egypt. 

The next site will be the Abu Serga Church, believed to be constructed where the holy family rested during their journey in Egypt. 

The last destination will be to the Church of Saint Mary which is an orthodox church built during the 5th century and restored many times until today.

After such an amazing tour, you will be heading back to your hotel in Cairo for rest and refreshment. 

At night, you will be spending free time on your own in Cairo or you can have an Optional Nile Cruise Dinner where you will have the most delicious meal with Tanoura shows,  belly dancing performances and live music. All this plus the charming views of the river Nile under the stars.

Day 4El Fayoum City Tour

An energizing breakfast will be served to you at your hotel before getting ready to go on a road trip towards the town of El Fayoum. 

You will be discovering there, the charming countryside towns in Egypt. El  Fayoum is famous for pottery and some remarkable pyramids.

Your visits in El Fayoum will start with the Hawara Pyramid, this amazing pyramid was built during the 19th century BC by King Amenmhat III.

Then you will be having your lunch meal on the shores of Lake Qarun that is considered one of the deepest natural lakes in Egypt with 3300 square meters. 

You can end the day by visiting the remarkable Pyramid of Meidum. It was constructed by King Senfru who tried to build the first pyramid in Egypt but this attempt was a failure. But then he succeeded in building the pyramid of King Cheops, one of the 3 Pyramids of Giza.

After such a wonderful tour in El Fayoum, you will be heading back to Cairo on a road trip that will take approximately 2 hours by car. 

Once you arrive in Cairo you will reach your hotel for check in, rest and refresh. 

Evening time is free time on your own, so you can explore the capital of Egypt by night and walk around your hotel. You will also have an optional tour with assistance of your representative if you prepare.

Day 5Drive to El Minya & O.N.

Check out the hotel after having the most delicious breakfast and get ready to leave Cairo for another adventure. 

You will be heading to the South of Egypt towards El Minya city, to discover the rest of the ancient Egyptian mysteries. 

You will be taking a private air-conditioned vehicle towards the city of El Minya, which is known for “ the jewel of Upper Egypt ” as it has amazing views of the River Nile. 

Your visits in El Minya will begin by exploring Tell El Amarna. This city was the capital of Egypt in the 13th century BC and established by king Akhenaten. At that time, the supporters of the god Amun had destroyed the city as they never admitted to worshiping the new god, Aten. But today you can see the ruins of Tell El Amarna city located over a 12 kilometers area.

Now you will get back again to El Minya city to check in your preferred hotel where you will get some rest and relax. 

You will have some free time at night to be able to explore the city of El Minya and enjoy its marvelous views of the Nile. 

Finally, you’ll get back to your hotel to spend the most relaxing night. [Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner]

Day 6Beni Hassan, Tuna El Gebel, Ashmonien & O.N.

Your second day in El Minya city will start with a delicious breakfast at your hotel. 

Then you will be ready to start visiting the Tombs of Beni Hassan. This burial site has many rock-cut tombs that date back to the Middle Kingdom of ancient Egypt. This will make it full of impressive wall paintings and Inscriptions.

Let’s proceed with the tour by discovering the impressive site of Tuna El Gabal. You will find the famous Boundary Stelae for Akhenaten and his wife that shows them worshipping Aten. There are also another two interesting ancient tombs you have to visit there.

As the last visit of the day, you will pass by the ancient city of El Ashmunein.  It hosts lots of interesting ancient monuments that belonged to the Roman Period and the Christian era afterwards.

Once the tour is over, you will get back to your hotel in El Minya to get some rest. 

At night, you will have free time on your own to have fun in El Minya city.

Day 7Drive to Sohag & O.N.

This morning you will be having your breakfast then Check out the hotel to leave El Minya and discover another city. 

You will be going on a road trip towards Sohag city, which is located 260 kilometers to the South of El Minya.

On your way to Sohag. you will pass by the city of Assiut and visit Meir Necropolis including amazing tombs of nobles and priests dates back to the Old kingdom and the Middle kingdom  

Then continue driving to reach Sohag, where you will stop in the way to visit the Open Air Museum of Akhmim, to view the remains of the town that flourished there in ancient times displayed in an interesting open air museum with the statue of Meritamun, one of the favorite daughters of the famous king, Ramses II.

You will continue until you reach Sohag, where you will reach your hotel to check in and have some rest. 

At night, you can have some free time to explore the city of Sohag and you will also have the chance to walk around your hotel. 

Finally, you’ll get back to your hotel for dinner and having a relaxing night. [Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner].

Day 8Abydos& Denderah

Today, you will start by having the most delicious breakfast then you will Check out your hotel. 

Your tour guide will take you on one of the very interesting tours you will ever have. You will be heading towards the city of Luxor, ancient Thebes, the capital of Egypt for a very long period of time with a large number of matchless historical sites.

Your first stop will be to explore the significant site of Abydos, one of the oldest towns of ancient Egypt that hosts a number of tombs, temples, and other ruins today.

Next, you will stop at the city of Denderah to visit the Temple of Dendera, one of the best preserved and marvelous examples of Greco Roman architecture in Egypt. The temple dedicated to the goddess Hathour is quite remarkable.

You will then complete driving towards Luxor. It is scheduled to arrive in Luxor by afternoon and proceed to your beloved hotel for check in and get some rest after a long and exciting trip.

Evening time is yours to explore the amazing city of Luxor by night. You can walk around your hotel or go to the Tourist Market in Luxor in order to buy some local (hand-made) gifts to your family members, relatives and friends.

Day 9Full Day West Bank & O.N. in Luxor

Enjoy your breakfast meal in the morning and get ready for today’s visit to the West Bank of Luxor. 

Today’s tour will be very attractive, as you will be visiting the most impressive temples in the city of the dead! Your first visit of the day will be to the Temple of Madinet Habu, perhaps the best preserved temple of ancient Egypt that was constructed by Ramses III. The relatively large complex has some wonderful decorations with some colors that remained intact until today.

Then your next visit will be at Deir El Medina, or the village of the workers who constructed these marvelous monuments all over Luxor. Founded in the 16th century BC, the outline of the village can be explored until today. This is besides some interesting tombs.

You will finish this amazing day tour with Ramesseum, the mortuary temple of the great king, Ramses II, who built it in the 13th century. Today the temple is featured with some colossi of the king and many other notable sections. 

Enjoy your evening time on your own to explore the amazing city of Luxor by night. You can walk around your hotel or even visit the Tourist Market in Luxor to buy some local (hand-made) souvenirs to your family members, relatives and friends.

Tonight you will be spending a relaxing sleep at your hotel in luxor. [Breakfast & Lunch]

Day 10Luxor City Tour

The most delicious breakfast will be served at your hotel then get ready to continue discovering the city of Luxor. 

Beside the marvelous history sites in Luxor there are also many fabulous museums to explore. You will begin this discovery by exploring the Luxor Museum which is located near the Karnak Temple. This museum was established by the Egyptian government to host some of the findings unearthed in Luxor and around the city.

Next, you will visit the Mummification Museum, a new museum dedicated to the illustration and the documentation of the mummification process in ancient Egypt including the tools, substances, mummies, coffins, and other interesting items from the mortuary scene in ancient Egypt

After the tour is over, you will get back to your hotel in Luxor to spend the last night in a hotel and move tomorrow to your Nile Cruise ship for another adventure.

Day 11East Bank of Luxor

Start the day by having your breakfast then check out the hotel and get ready to join your local representative in Luxor and move to your Nile Cruise ship. 

Check in the cruise and let’s enjoy the lunch meal on board with the amazing Nile views. 

You will continue exploring the East Bank of Luxor by visiting the impressive Temple of Karnak that is considered the largest Pharaonic temple in the world established over a one thousand years ago. 

Your next visit of the day will be to the Luxor Temple. The construction of this Temple started in the 14th century BC and continued for many years afterwards. There are many  great Pharaohs who worked on building this temple like Ramses II and Queen Hatshepsut. 

After such an amazing tour, you will get back to the Nile cruiser for rest & refresh. Then you will enjoy your afternoon tea on board while relaxing on the sundeck facing the amazing view of the Nile. 

There are many optional tours for you to enjoy your time in Luxor, but the most attractive tour is the sound & light show at the Karnak Temple. Day 12West Bank of Luxor

This Morning you will have free time on your own, or you will be having an optional Hot-air Balloon adventure to explore Luxor from the sky, having amazing views of the city. 

Get back to the hotel to enjoy your delicious breakfast before starting today’s visits at the West bank of Luxor. The first destination will be to the Valley of the Kings which is very rich with fascinating ancient tombs where the kings from the New Kingdom were buried there. The masterpiece of this site is the marvelous tomb of Tutankhamen that was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carteras.

The next visit will be to the Temple of Deir El Bahari, constructed in the 18th dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut. The Temple is unique with its location carved out of one of the great mountains of Thebes. You will find inside the temple  many terraces and statues of the Queen with a beard.

Your last visit at the West Bank will be to the Colossi of Memnon, those are two huge statues that still remain from the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III and It was  constructed in 1350 BC.

Once the tour is over, you will get back to the Nile cruiser to have your delicious lunch meal on board. 

Now you can enjoy your Afternoon tea on board while relaxing beside the pool and the amazing niel views.

Day 13Edfu & Kom Ombo

Don’t miss having the best breakfast on board before starting today’s tour with your Nile Cruise ship. 

The first destination will be to the Temple of Horus in Edfu which is one of the best  preserved temples from ancient Egypt. This temple was built in the 3rd century BC by the Ptolemies for the worship of the god Horus. You will be amazed with the temple’s fascinating wall carvings.

At this time you will get back to your ship to enjoy your lunch meal while sailing towards Kom Ombo city. 

Your second visit of the day will be at the Temple of Kom Ombo. This place was established in the Ptolemaic period but they were able to complete it in the Roman era. They built this temple especially to worship two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. That’s why we find the temple now divided into two sections; one for each god.

At the end of this marvelous day, you will get back to your Nile cruise ship for rest and refresh. 

In the afternoon you will be enjoying the sundeck beside the pool and the fresh air. 

Evening time will be free when you can attend the Egyptian folklore show on the ship, It will be an unforgettable night with belly dancers and many other entertaining performances.

Day 14Dam Philae Obelisk

You will start the day with a delicious Egyptian breakfast on board then you will be ready to continue exploring the city. 

You will begin the day with exploring the High Dam that was constructed in the 1960s by the former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser. He decided to build the dam in order to store the water from the flood of the River Nile and also to generate a large volume of the electricity of Egypt.

Let’s go now on a motorboat ride to reach Agilika Island. This island is the new location of the marvelous Philae Temple which was constructed in the 3rd century BC in the Greco Roman era to the worship of the goddess Isis. This is the new location because UNESCO was able to reallocate the temple away from the water damage of the Nile river flood that happened  after the construction of the High Dam. 

The last visit of the day will be that unique as you will be visiting the Unfinished Obelisk. This place is one of the famous sites in Egypt, however it’s not completed. That’s why the Egyptoligists say that if ancient Egyptian had the time to finish it, it would have been the largest piece of stone humans ever dealt with. Don’t miss visiting such an architectural miracle. 

Once your day is over, you will get back to your Nile cruise where you can enjoy the tasty lunch. 

Afternoon is free time for you to relax beside the pool and enjoy the fresh air.

Day 15Abu Simbel Temples

You will be having your breakfast first, then Check out to continue today’s tours. 

You will be heading with an A/C vehicle towards Abu Simbel which is very near to Nubia. Abu Simbel Temple is one of the greatest achievements of ancient Egypt as it was built by Ramses II and hidden under the sand for centuries until we discovered it in the 19th century. 

After such a memorable tour is over, you will drive back to your hotel in Aswan to check in and have some rest. 

You will be having the rest of the day free on your own to explore the city of Aswan by night, totally amazing! 

Tonight you will be having a good sleep at your hotel. [Breakfast]

Day 16Aswan Classic Tour

Your delicious breakfast meal will be served to you at your hotel before continuing your  tour in the land of gold. 

Let’s begin by exploring the Nubian Museum which was established in 1997 through an initiative of UNESCO. The museum hosts some of the most distinctive items that were found in Nubia over a long period of the ancient history of this area.

Your next visit will be to the Temple of Kalabsha that was relocated after the construction of the High Dam in the 1960s to avoid the water damage.

The most interesting part of Aswan city is the Nubian Village, where you can get to know the Nubian community, their beliefs and traditions, and much more! 

Now you will be using a private air-conditioned vehicle towards Aswan International Airport in order to catch your domestic flight back  to Cairo.

Day 17Islamic Cairo Tour

Don’t miss your energizing breakfast at your hotel before joining your Egyptologist tour guide in an interesting tour to El Muizz Street.

You can visit lots of Islamic monuments in El Muizz Street and you will start with Bab El Fetouh which is one of the historical gates of Cairo, constructed in the 11th century. 

The next visit will be to El Hakim Mosque, constructed in the 11th century as one of the largest and most remarkable historical mosques in Egypt. 

You will then proceed to visit El Aqmar Mosque which is one of the wonderful Fatimid mosques in Egypt featured with its marvelous stone decoration at its entrance.

Near to El Mouiz Street, you can visit El Hussein district, where you will admire the mosque of El Hussein from outside and view all the wonders in the area. 

Now it’s the time to have your lunch meal at one of the tourist restaurants in the area of Islamic Cairo.

After lunch, you’ll be heading back to your hotel to get some rest. Then at night you will have free time to explore the city of Cairo or you can choose our optional tour to The Cairo Tower, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner with the view of Cairo from the Sky!

Day 18Departure from Cairo
