Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Cairo Int. Airport

GAT Tours’ representative will be the first person to meet once you arrive in Cairo. He will be your main assistance with everything you may need and he will be responsible to deliver you to your hotel. 

Once you reach the hotel, you will check in and get your new room’s key to spend the rest of the day free at leisure to do whatever pleases you in Cairo city. [No Meals]

Day 2Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, Saqqara Pyramids & Memphis

Get the most delicious breakfast in the morning at your hotel, then get ready to join your professional Egyptologist in your first journey to Cairo city. 

You will begin the magic of the pharaohs at the greatest site ever in the world, The Pyramids of Giza. This place has been standing there from around 2500 BC, It was the royal tombs of the greatest kings in ancient Egypt.  During your visit to the pyramids, you will see the 3 pyramids from the biggest to the smallest one plus the marvelous sphinx statue built in the shape of a lion’s body and human’s head to guard the pyramids.  

Saqqara Pyramids complex will be your second charming place for today. It’s the royal burial site of the kings from the Old Kingdom in Egypt, the centerpiece of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid of Djoser which is the oldest surviving stone monument in the whole world. If you wonder what is the first pyramid to be built in the world, I will tell you, it is the  Step Pyramid of Djoser that was built in the 27th century BC. 

Your last stop for today will be at Memphis city. While visiting Memphis, you will stand on the land of the first capital of unified Egypt. King Narmer came in the 32nd century BC and he was able to unify Upper and Lower Egypt and make Memphis the main Capital at that time. 

Now, it’s the time to have your lunch meal at one of the best restaurants in Cairo. 

The rest of the day will be free at Leisure to do whatever you want to discover the city.  

We will be offering you an optional tour to the sound & light show at Giza pyramids, which is a charming show that will tell you the whole story and history behind the creation of the pyramids using the effects of the sounds and lights.

Day 3Egyptian Museum, Citadel Of Salah El Dien, Alabaster Mosque and Coptic Cairo

You will have the best Breakfast meal at your hotel before starting today’s trip. 

Your first visit for today will be to the largest museum in the whole world, The Egyptian Museum. You will discover lots of valuable displays dating back to various periods of ancient Egyptian history. This will include the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, large impressive reliefs, statues, and many other fascinating items.

Then you will pass by one of the biggest and the oldest buildings in Cairo, the Citadel of Saladin. This amazing fortress was built in the 10th century to protect Egypt from any threats. Inside the citadel you can find lots of  impressive monuments like the famous Mosque of Mohamed Ali, and the Mosque of El Nasser Mohamed, plus more than one interesting museum.

After such a great trip, you will have some rest to enjoy your lunch to try the Egyptian food. 

The Coptic Cairo area is your next destination, you will be visiting lots of interesting Coptic monuments. The first place will be The Hanging Church which was built in the 5th century to be the most important historical church in Egypt nowadays. 

Next you will explore the Abu Serga Church which was the same location that the holy family rested at the end of their journey. 

Lastly you will visit an orthodox church, the Church of Saint Mary. This amazing place was built in the 5th century but it was restored and rebuilt many times afterwards.

At the end of the day, you will get back to your hotel in Cairo to have some rest. 

During the rest of the day we will offer you an optional Dinner at luxurious Nile Cruise with the most delicious open buffet, a Tanoura show, a belly dancing performance, live music, and remarkable views of the river Nile.

Day 4Fly to Luxor - Check in your Nile Cruise - East Bank (Karnak and Luxor temples)

Enjoy your wonderful buffet breakfast at your hotel and get ready to meet our English-speaking representative, who will take you to Cairo International Airport with a private A/C vehicle. You will be taking your domestic flight to Luxor city where you will start another chapter of your journey in Egypt. 

Once you arrive at Luxor International Airport, our local representative will be waiting for you to help and assist with everything you may need and then he will transfer you to your five-star Nile cruiser. Check in the Nile Cruise and get some rest at your own room in the middle of the Nile. 

Your Journey will start at the East Bank of Luxor where you will be visiting the Karnak Temples. This is huge Pharaonic temple complex that was built from more than one thousand years ago. All the items of the temple belong to the new kingdom, this includes the huge columns of the hypostyle hall which was built by Ramses II. 

Next you will sail towards the Luxor Temple which is the second charming temple in Luxor city. This amazing building was constructed during the 14th century BC, more than one pharaoh participated in the construction process, among those pharaohs was  Ramses II and Queen Hatshepsut. 

Let’s get back to the Nile cruiser to get some rest and enjoy your lunch meal with the charming views of the Nile. 

You will have the rest of the day as free time to spend it on your own, or you can join us on our optional tour to the sound & light show at the Karnak Temple. This show will include interesting stories about the construction of many sections at tthe temple and some facts about Pharaohs in general. 

Finally, you will get back to your Nile Cruiser for Overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 5West Bank Luxor ``Valley of the Kings - Hatshepsut temple and Colossi of Memnon``

In the early Morning you will be free at leisure and you will have the chance to go on an Optional Hot-air Balloon ride. You will enjoy such a fascinating adventure where you will be able to explore Luxor city from the sky. What a great chance to try the feeling of a flying bird. 

Let’s get the most delicious breakfast at your Nile Cruise then get ready to explore the West bank of Luxor. 

You will start the trip at the Valley of the Kings which is considered the richest ancient tombs in Egypt. You will find there most of the royal tombs of the ancient kings like the marvelous tomb of Tutankhamen which was  discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. 

Now it’s the time to see the masterpiece made under the supervision of queen Hatshepsut, the Temple of Deir El Bahari. This amazing temple was built in the 18th dynasty and it’s featured with its many terraces and the statues of the Queen with a beard. 

Your last visit will be to the Colossi of Memnon which consists of two huge statues remaining from the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III. This place was built in 1350 BC and became a landmark of Luxor afterwards.

Get back to your Nile cruise now to enjoy your delicious Lunch meal.

Day 6Edfu temple and Kom Ombo temple

Don’t miss your delicious breakfast at your Nile Cruise while sailing towards your next location. 

The Temple of Horus in Edfu is your first visit for today, it’s the finest preserved ancient Egyptian temple in Egypt. The Ptolemies built this amazing building in the 3rd century BC in order to worship the god Horus and there are marvelous stone columns and fascinating wall carvings inside this beautiful temple.

To continue this interesting trip, you need to get some energy by having the most delicious Lunch meal on the ship. 

Get prepared for your second visit of the day, whereas you will meet the Temple of Kom Ombo. The building of this one was started in the Ptolemaic period and was completed in the Roman era in order to worship two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. 

Finally, you will head to your Nile cruise ship to get some rest and enjoy your afternoon time on board with the amazing scene of the Nile River. 

Spend the rest of the day free on your own and get ready to attend the Egyptian folklore show on the ship with an unforgettable belly dancer and many other entertaining performances included in your Nile cruise package.

Day 7High Dam - Philae temple of Isis - Felucca ride

Your buffet breakfast will be served to you on board while sailing towards Aswan city. 

Your first visit in Aswan will begin by the High Dam which is one of the greatest projects built in Egypt.  The former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser built this project in the 1960s to help Egypt store the water from the flood of the River Nile and also generate a large volume of the electricity of Egypt. 

You will then go on a motor boat ride to reach Agilkia Island where you will be visiting the marvelous Philae Temple. This temple was constructed in the 3rd century BC during the Greco Roman era in order to worship the goddess Isis. 

Later enjoy a peaceful sailing with a felucca ride around the Islands in Aswan – possibility to enter the botanical garden.

After the day tour, you will drive back to your beloved Nile cruise to enjoy your tasty lunch meal. 

The rest of the day will be free at leisure on board to relax beside the pool on the sundeck and enjoy the incomparable view of the River Nile. Dinner meal will be served on board before the farewell show

Day 8Abu simble temple - back to Aswan - Fly to Cairo

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning then get ready to check out the Nile Cruise and head to your last visit. 

You will go on a ride trip with an A/C vehicle towards Abu Simbel city to visit the famous  Abu Simbel Temples. This is the greatest achievement of ancient Egypt that was constructed by Ramses II. The two temples in this city were cut out of rocks and buried under the sand for centuries until they could discover it in the 19th century. 

Now you will drive back to Aswan Airport in order to catch your domestic flight back to Cairo after such a great journey in upper Egypt. .

Upon your arrival at Cairo Airport, you’ll meet our English-speaking representative who will take you directly towards your  hotel in Cairo to check in and get some rest. 

At night, you will be free at leisure on your own to enjoy your stay in Cairo city.

Day 9Alexandria Overday

After having the best breakfast ever in the morning, you will meet our professional Egyptologist, who will take you on an amazing ride trip to the second capital of Egypt or the “bride of the Mediterranean sea”, Alexandria. 

The Distance between Cairo and Alexandria takes only three hours by car. You will start your trip in Alexandria by visiting the Library of Alexandria. This ancient library was established in the 3rd century BC but it was destroyed in the 1st and got restored again to be the library we see today.  

Next you will pass by the Roman Amphitheatre which was discovered in 1960. This is a kind of ancient theatre that was built in the 4th century BC with its marble steps. 

Later on, you will go to charge your energy by having the most delicious lunch meal in Alexandria. 

After lunch, you will visit Qaitbay Citadel (from outside). This citadel was constructed in the 16th century and now it became one of the most important landmarks of Alexandria.

At the end of the day, you will drive back to Cairo where you will be spending your night. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 10Departure from Cairo Int. Airport

Make sure to enjoy your last breakfast in Egypt then get ready to check out the hotel. 

Our English-speaking representative will take you with a private A/C vehicle to Cairo International Airport in order to catch your departure flight back home carrying wonderful memories from this fruitful journey in Egypt. (Breakfast)
