Our awesome trip starts in Cairo, the capital of Egypt and one of the biggest cities in the world. Guests who enjoy their trip in Egypt, will spend only two days in Cairo, so they can visit the most distinguished of its many highlights including the most famous Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, the historical site of Sakkara, the ancient city of Memphis, the Egyptian museum of antiquities, the Citadel of Salah El-din, Old Cairo are other attractive attractions that can be added upon request.

A quite short flight takes you south to one of the most beautiful cities in Egypt, Aswan City. A unique mix of charming nature, amazing temples and masterpieces of modern technology together with the best quality spices and exotic products of Nubia and Sudan, all can be found in one place called Aswan.

Navigating the eternal River Nile is an unforgettable relaxing experience; its fresh water gently embraces the shores of the green fertile fields and the pretty palm trees, while the soft sands of the desert stand at the back of the scene.

On the way to Luxor, the Nile Cruise docks a couple of times giving you the chance to explore two little towns and their ancient temples; Kom Ombo and Edfu. In turkey we will spend four nights to see all the monuments with its remarkable architecture and beautiful mix of Byzantine and Muslim adornment. Many other fabulous Christian historical sites like the TopKapi Palace, Blue Mosque, the ancient basilica of St. Sophia and many other interesting attractions also you will have the time to enjoy the Bosphours Cruise and explore the Prince’s Island. Program Itinerary:

Arrival to Cairo (No Meals)

Upon arrival to Cairo International Airport, you will be met with GAT Tours’ representative, your best friend for the coming few days, who will help you in passing the passport control and collecting your luggage. Then, you’ll be transferred by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Cairo. On arrival to the hotel, we will check in within few minutes! Later on, you will receive your room keys and proceed to your nice room to have some rest before the beginning of your awesome tour in Cairo.

Giza Pyramids, Sakkara & Memphis (Breakfast & Lunch)

After breakfast, you will be met with our professional, Egyptologist tour guide who will join you in this amazing tour in Cairo. We start our tour with the great Pyramids of Giza, the most popular monument in the world. Constructed around 2500 BC as the necropolis of the kings of the forth dynasty, there is the pyramid of Cheops or the Grand Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the smaller pyramid of Menkaure, and the marvelous Sphinx constructed with a body of a lion and the head of a human to guard the pyramids from any threats.

Our next visit of the day will be to the site of Saqqara, the royal burial site of the 3rd dynasty of the Old Kingdom in Egypt and one of the richest archeological places in Egypt with treasures being discovered until today. The highlight and the centerpiece of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest surviving stone monument in the whole world and the first proper pyramid to ever be constructed in Egypt in the 27th century BC. This would be a marvelous chance to understand the evolution of the pyramids building in ancient Egypt. The step pyramid is considered to be one of the most important landmarks of pyramids construction in Egypt.

We finish this amazing day tour in Memphis, the first capital of unified Egypt. Established in 32nd century BC by King Narmer after he unified Upper and Lower Egypt. The city served as the seat of the government until the 22nd century. However, all the displayed exhibited in the Open-air Museum we will explore today belong to the New Kingdom with the highlights being the amazing Colossi of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx, and many other statues and items.

At the end of this day tour in Cairo, we will transfer you to have your lunch meal at local tourist restaurant, where you can choose your preferred dish. After having your lunch meal, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Cairo for rest and refresh. Aswan Cruise Tour (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Check out after breakfast. Later on, you’ll be met with GAT Tours’ Representative, who will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo Airport, in order to catch your domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival to Aswan Airport, you’ll be met with GAT Tours’ local Representative there, who will help and assist you in all formalities, collecting your luggage, etc…

We will then transfer you to your Nile Cruise ship for check in, rest and refresh. Lunch meal is included on board the Nile Cruise. After lunch, you’ll join our expert, Egyptologist tour guide to visit the High Dam, constructed in the 1960s by the former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser. The dam helped Egypt to store the water from the flood of the River Nile and it also generates a large volume of the electricity of Egypt. It is also considered to be a great architectural achievement.

We will then ride in a motorboat to reach Agilika Island, the new location of the marvelous Philae Temple, constructed in the 3rd century BC in the Greco Roman era as the center of the worship of the goddess Isis. It is one of the most remarkable ancient Egyptian temples that were relocated after the construction of the High Dam and the water of the River Nile affected many historical monuments, the temple was transferred under a huge project funded by many nations and supervised by the UNESCO.

Our last visit of the day will be to the Unfinished Obelisk, which was found in the granite quarry in the Southern part of the city of Aswan. If completed, the unfinished obelisk would have been the largest piece of stone humans ever dealt with. Dating back to the New Kingdom, it documents however the miraculous process of the construction of obelisks in ancient Egypt.

After the day tour, we will drive back to our Nile cruise for rest and refresh. Free afternoon at leisure on board in order to relax beside the pool on the sundeck and enjoy the incomparable view of the River Nile. Evening time is free at leisure on your own in Aswan, so you can attend the nice show on board or you can go for an optional tour to enjoy your night.

Kom Ombo & Edfu (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Energizing breakfast will be served on board before our full day tour. Our Nile Cruise ship will land at the location of the Temple of Kom Ombo, established in the Ptolemaic period and completed in the Roman era, the temple is dedicated to two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. This was why the temple was divided into two sections; one for each god.

After visiting the amazing temple of Kom Ombo, you will get back to the ship, so we can enjoy the lunch on board while sailing to the city of Edfu. Enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Nile from the sundeck. Arrange yourself for the second visit of the day, whereas we will meet Temple of Horus in Edfu, the finest preserved ancient Egyptian temple in the land of the Nile. It was constructed by the Ptolemies in the 3rd century BC for the worship of the god Horus. The temple is featured with its marvelous stone columns and fascinating wall carvings.

We will then return to our Nile Cruise for rest and refresh. Evening time is yours to relax on board or you can go for an optional tour in Edfu – depends on the sailing schedule by boat – so you can enjoy your night.

West Bank of Luxor (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Morning time is free at leisure or (optional) you can enjoy a Hot-air Balloon adventure to explore Luxor from the sky, having amazing views of the city. It is as if you are a bird flying across the marvelous monuments of Luxor.

Enjoy your delicious breakfast before exploring the West bank of Luxor, the city of the dead where many marvelous mortuary temples and necropolises are located. Our first visit of the day will be to the Valley of the Kings, the richest and most fascinating ancient tombs in Egypt. This was the burial site of the kings from the New Kingdom. This includes the marvelous tomb of Tutankhamen, discovered intact by Howard Carter in 1922 as the most important archeological discovery in the 20th century. The tombs are featured with marvelous wall painting which survived until today.

The next visit will be to the Temple of Deir El Bahari, which was constructed during the reign of the 18th dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest rulers of Egypt. The Temple is featured with its many terraces, the statues of the Queen with a beard, and its magnificent location carved out of one of the great mountains of Thebes. Our last visit at the West Bank will be to the Colossi of Memnon, these two huge statues are the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III constructed in 1350 BC and became a landmark of Luxor afterwards.

After the tour, we will get back to the Nile cruiser to have our delicious lunch meal on board. Enjoy your Afternoon tea on board while relaxing on the sundeck facing the amazing view of the Nile. At night, we will enjoy the funniest party on board “Galabeiya Party” or you can go for an optional tour in Luxor to enjoy your night.

East Bank of Luxor (Breakfast)

Check out from the Nile Cruise after breakfast. You’ll then meet our expert, Egyptologist tour guide to complete your tours in Luxor. Our first visit of the day will be to Temple of Karnak, the largest Pharaonic temple complex in the world. Constructed over a period of more than one thousand years, almost all the impressive items of the Karnak we see today date back to the new kingdom specially the huge amazing columns of the hypostyle hall which are constructed by Ramses II, the greatest builder of ancient Egypt.

The next visit of the day will be to the Luxor Temple, another startling temple which was established around the 14th century BC and the construction continued for many years afterwards by Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and many other Pharaohs. The temple is featured with its variety of design outlines and architecture. This is besides the huge two statues of Ramses II which ornaments the façade of the temple.

After finishing your day tour, you’ll be transferred by private Air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor Airport in order to catch your domestic flight to Cairo. Upon arrival to Cairo Airport, you’ll be met with GAT Tours’ Representative, who will help and assist you in getting your luggage, then he will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Cairo for check in and overnight.

Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo (Breakfast & Lunch)

Breakfast meal will be served at your hotel. After that, you’ll join our expert, Egyptologist tour guide in such awe-inspiring tour in the city center of Cairo. We begin our visits of the day by exploring the Egyptian Museum, the largest museum in the world with a huge collection of displays dating back to various periods of the ancient Egyptian history with the highlights being the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, large impressive reliefs, statues, and many other fascinating items.

Our next visit will be to the Citadel of Salah El-din, constructed in the 10th century by Saladin to protect Egypt and became the residence of the rulers of Egypt for a period that lasted more than seven centuries. The citadel itself is one of the most impressive medieval fortresses and it contains many remarkable monuments like the famous Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Mosque of El Nasser Mohamed, and many interesting museums. This is besides offering the guests amazing panoramic views of the city of Cairo.

After the citadel tour, we will have a short break for lunch at a Tourist Restaurant in Cairo, so you can taste the Egyptian food. After lunch we will proceed to Old Cairo Area, a part in the Egyptian capital that hosts some of the most interesting Coptic monuments in the country. We will start our Coptic tour by visiting the Hanging Church, first established in the 5th century and one of the most important historical churches in Egypt. Our next visit in Coptic Cairo will be to the Abu Serga Church, believed to be constructed where the holy family rested at the end of their journey, it was constructed in the 7th century. Our last visit in Coptic Cairo will be to the Church of Saint Mary, an orthodox church, built during the 5th century, restored and rebuilt many times afterwards.

Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel for rest and refresh. Evening time is free at leisure on your own in Cairo, so you can relax at your hotel or you can seize the opportunity to go for an optional tour in Cairo to enjoy your night.

Flight to Istanbul (Breakfast)

Check out after breakfast. Later on, you’ll be met with GAT Tours’ Representative who will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo Airport in order to catch your International flight to Istanbul, carrying wonderful memories about your wonderful trip to Egypt.

Upon arrival to Ataturk Airport, you’ll be met with GAT Tours’ local Representative in Turkey, who will help and assist you in all formalities. Then, you’ll be transferred by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Istanbul. We will check in the hotel within few minutes! St. Sophia, TopKapi Palace & Blue Mosque (Breakfast)

Breakfast meal is included at the hotel. We will pick you up at 08:30 AM in the morning, so you can enjoy a full day tour of old Istanbul city. Our first visit of the day will be to St. Sophia, an ancient basilica, built by Constantine the great in the 4th century and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, is one of the architectural marvels of all time. We will then proceed to visit Topkapi Palace, a great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.

Later on, we will visit Sultan Ahmet Imperial Mosque, across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the Blue Mosque because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. This is besides visiting Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.

Tour will then take you to the Grand Covered Bazaar, an open street full of tourist bazaars. In this labyrinth of streets and passages are more than 4,000 shops with each trade having its own area: the goldsmiths’ street, the carpet sellers, Turkish arts and crafts, such as hand-painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, water ewers, onyx-ware and meerschaum pipes.

Bosphorus, Beylerbeyi Palace & Spice Market (Breakfast)

Breakfast meal is included at the hotel. We will pick you up at 08:30 AM in the morning, so we depart for the Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise and Shopping Tour. Our first visit of the day will be to Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), whereas the air is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice.

The Bosphorus by boat a traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion you will see the magnificent sights of the following attractions from your boat. See Dolmabahce Palace, and further along, the parks and imperial pavilions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park, is Ciragan Palace, 300 meters of its marble facade faces the shore. At Ortakoy a great variety of artists gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortakoy is a symbol of tolerance with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries.

We also visit Rumeli Fortress, built by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1452 prior to the conquest of Istanbul was completed in only four months to control and protect the infamous Bosphorus passage. It is one of the most beautiful works of military architecture anywhere in the world.

Our next visit of the day will be to the Beylerbeyi Palas (PALACE), the summer residence of Ottoman sultans exists in its original renovated glory featuring original antique furniture and magnificent gardens with the Harem on the Asian side of Istanbul.

It is also a nice chance to try the Bosphorus Bridge, where you can enjoy a unique chance to step from one continent (Asia) to another (Europe), the Camlica Hill, the highest point in Istanbul. At the top of it you can rest and admire the magnificent panorama of Istanbul and the Bosporus from the beautiful gardens, landscaped in traditional Turkish Ottoman style.

Finally we haave a Shopping Tour (after cruise) Experience the traditional silk weaving skills of Turkish women at the carpet weaving courses provided by the Ministry of National Education. You will get the opportunity to see jewellery, handcrafts center and a modern leatherwear show. Enjoy the experience of shopping whilst gaining the knowledge of the ancient craftsmen, with full of knowledge about how to haggle the streets of Istanbul.

We will have a stop at Buyukada, the popular summer resort with sandy beaches and pinewood scenery, once the pleasure island of Byzantine Princes. During the Summer season, enjoy the magical atmosphere that the Island’s beach resort has to offer including many optional water sporting activities.

Tour the island with horse-drawn carriages before stopping for an exquisite lunch at a fish restaurant on your own.
