Overday trip to Abu Simbel by Land

GAT Tours’ expert English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and transfer you by a private air-conditioned vehicle to the charming city of Abu Simbel that will take you back to the Pharaonic era with all its glamor and ambiguity.

In the city of Abu Simbel, we will visit the two temples of Ramses II and his royal wife, queen Nefertari. These two temples with their impressive and unique style are considered to be one of the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They represents one of the most grandest & beautiful temples in Egypt. They also reflect the glory and grandeur of the ancient Pharaonic civilization.

The Egyptian government and UNESCO co-operated together in order to save these temples from the flood. Quoting the ancient Egyptians’ beliefs, the Temple of Ramses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramses II. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God together as one.

This amazing visit to the Abu Simbel temples takes approximately two hours exploring the unique inscriptions on the walls of both temples. After that, we will drive back to Aswan and drop you at your hotel there, where our services will be ended.
