Our awesome trip starts in Cairo, the capital of Egypt and one of the biggest cities in the world. Cairo, has been founded in the 10th century AD, offers its visitor a rare combination of a charming oriental culture with an ancient Egyptian aroma, blending all together amid its animated colorful streets.

Day 1Arrival to Cairo (No Meals)

Once you arrive at the Egyptian land, you will meet GAT Tours’ representative, who will be your best friend that will help you with everything you may need until you reach your chosen hotel in Cairo.

Check in your hotel, and receive your room keys to get some rest after having a long flight to this side of the world.

Day 2Giza Pyramids, Sakkara & Memphis (Breakfast & Lunch)

Enjoy your first day in Cairo with the most delicious local breakfast at your hotel. Then get ready to join your Egyptologist tour guide in one of the best tours in Cairo.

You will begin the journey by visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza, which is one of the old 7 wonders of the world. This site was built around 2500 BC to be the royal burial site for the kings of the 4th dynasty. You will enjoy exploring the pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the smaller pyramid of Menkaure, This is in addition to the main guard of the pyramids, Sphinx. Sphinx is a unique statue made in a human’s head and a lion’s body to protect the pyramids.

Let’s visit next the Saqqara city which hosts the royal burial site for the kings of the 3rd dynasty, you will find there many rich tombs that you will enjoy discovering. One of the main highlights of Saqqara city is the Step Pyramid of Djoser which is the oldest and the first proper pyramid to ever be built in Egypt. This pyramid was originally built in the 27th century BC, and it’s considered to be one of the most important landmarks of pyramids construction in Egypt.

Do you want to discover the first Capital in the history of Egpyt?! You have got the chance to visit the open air museum of Memphis city. This city was originally built by King Narmer in the 32nd century BC to be the first Capital of unified Egypt. King Narmer was able to unify upper and Lower Egypt and made Memphis to be the main Capital till the 22nd century. Most of the monuments in the Open-air Museum of Memphis belong to the New Kingdom, like the amazing Colossi of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx, and many other statues and items.

Once the day ends, you will get the chance to enjoy your lunch meal at a local tourist restaurant to enjoy the Egyptian delicious cuisine. Then you will get back to your beloved hotel in Cairo to rest and refresh.

Day 3Aswan Cruise Tour (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Start your day with a delicious breakfast meal at your hotel before heading to your new destination. You will take your domestic flight from the Cairo Airport towards Aswan city.

Once you arrive at Aswan Airport, our local Representative will be waiting for you to take you with a private vehicle towards your Nile Cruise ship to check in and get some rest.

The first activity you will have on board is having your delicious lunch meal with the beautiful views of the Nile.

After lunch, get ready to join our Egyptologist tour guide to explore the High Dam, which is a great architectural achievement in Egypt that was constructed in the 1960s. The former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser was responsible for the construction of the dam to provide Egypt with a large volume of the electricity and to store the flooded water from the River Nile.

Then you will get into a motorboat to reach the unique Island, Agilika. You will be discovering there, the marvelous Philae Temple which was built in the 3rd century BC in the Greco-Roman era in order to worship the goddess Isis. The location of the Philae Temple was changed after the construction of the High Dam to rescue it from the damage caused from the water flood happened at that time, this rescue mission happened under a huge project funded by many nations and supervised by the UNESCO.
The Unfinished Obelisk will be your next visit of today, you will discover the largest piece of stone humans ever dealt with if it was completed. This Obelisk was found in the granite quarry in the Southern part of the city of Aswan and it’s construction dates back to the New Kingdom.

At the end of this fruitful day, you will drive back to your Nile cruise for rest and refresh.

Day 4Kom Ombo & Edfu (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Don’t miss your energizing breakfast in the morning before today’s tour with the Nile Cruise ship.

Your ship will land first at the location of the Temple of Kom Ombo to discover one of the most interesting temples in the city. This temple was firstly constructed in the Ptolemaic period, and they were able to complete it in the Roman era, That’s why this temple was dedicated to two different gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris.

Continue sailing the cruise from Kom Ombo towards the city of Edfu while enjoying the wonderful landscape of the Nile. The temple of Horus in Edfu is your next visit for today, this temple was constructed in the 3rd century BC during the Ptolemies period in order to worship the god Horus. This temple is unique with its marvelous stone columns and fascinating wall carvings.

Then you will return to your Nile Cruise where you will spend the rest of your day relaxing and enjoying a free time.

You can spend your evening time on your own or you can join us in an optional tour in Edfu – depends on the sailing schedule by boat – so you can enjoy your night.

Day 5West Bank of Luxor (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Have a good morning today by trying new adventure starting on the dawn, you will enjoy a Hot-air Balloon ride to fly all over Luxor city and explore the beautiful landscape from the highest point on the sky. (This will be an optional tour if you wish).

Get back to your hotel and enjoy the most delicious breakfast and have some rest before starting the tours of today.

You will head first to the West bank of Luxor, which is considered the city of dead, as it hosts many marvelous mortuary temples and necropolises. The Valley of the Kings is the perfect site for you to explore as it contains many important tombs for the kings from the New Kingdom, and it includes the famous tomb of Tutankhamen. They were able to discover the treasure of the Tutankhamen tomb in the 1922 by Howard Carter, this was the most important archeological discovery in the 20th century.

Then you will head to visit the Temple of Deir El Bahari which is a masterpiece built by the beautiful Queen Hatshepsut during the reign of the 18th dynasty. This temple has many fascinating details like statues of the Queen with a beard and lots of terraces. The location of this temple is also unique, as it was carved out of one of the great mountains of Thebes.

The last visit of the day has to be special, you will be exploring the Colossi of Memnon. This site consist of two huge statues constructed in 1350 BC, They are the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III.

Once you’re done with this fruitful day, you will get back to your Nile cruiser to enjoy your delicious lunch meal on board.

Today you will be leaving the Nile cruise to had for another adventure in Luxor city, but first, make sure to enjoy your delicious Egyptian breakfast on board.

You will start the Luxor tour today at the Temple of Karnak which is the largest Pharaonic temple complex in the world. The construction process of this charming temple continued for almost one thousand years, almost all the impressive items of the Karnak we see today date back to the new kingdom, like the hypostyle hall constructed by Ramses II.

Next, you will be visiting the second amazing temple in the city, the Luxor Temple. This startling temple was constructed in the 14th century BC by many pharaohs like Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and many others. You will enjoy discovering this temple with its variety of design outlines and architecture. Don’t miss also to explore the huge two statues of Ramses II which ornaments the façade of the temple.

Day 7Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo (Breakfast & Lunch)

Begin your day with a refreshing breakfast meal at your hotel in Cairo before starting the Cairo tour of today.

Today, you will have a special visit to the famous Egyptian Museum, which is the largest museum in the whole world that hosts this huge number of ancient monuments dating back to various periods of the ancient Egyptian history. The main highlights of this charming museum are the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, large impressive reliefs, statues, and many other fascinating items.

The Citadel of Salah El-din will be your next destination of today’s tour in Cairo. This amazing fortress was constructed in the 10th century by Saladin who was the ruler of Egypt at that time, he built this citadel to protect Egypt from any threats. Inside the citadel itself, you will find many impressive and remarkable monuments like the famous Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Mosque of El Nasser Mohamed, and many other great museums. Today you will say goodbye to Egypt after having the last Egyptian breakfast at your hotel in Cairo. Check out the hotel and get ready to join GAT Tours’ Representative in a private Air-conditioned vehicle towards Cairo Airport in order to catch your International flight to Istanbul, carrying wonderful memories about your wonderful trip to Egypt.

Upon your arrival to Ataturk Airport, you’ll meet GAT Tours’ local Representative in Turkey, who will help and assist you in all formalities. Then, you’ll take a private Air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Istanbul to check in and get some relaxing time at your own room.

Evening time is free at leisure on your own in Istanbul to relax at the hotel, or we will offer you an optional tour to enjoy your night.

Day 9St. Sophia, TopKapi Palace & Blue Mosque (Breakfast)

Breakfast meal is included at the hotel. We will pick you up at 08:30 AM in the morning, so you can enjoy a full day tour of old Istanbul city. Our first visit of the day will be to St. Sophia, an ancient basilica, built by Constantine the great in the 4th century and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, is one of the architectural marvels of all time. We will then proceed to visit Topkapi Palace, a great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.

Later on, we will visit Sultan Ahmet Imperial Mosque, across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the Blue Mosque because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. This is besides visiting Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.

Tour will then take you to the Grand Covered Bazaar, an open street full of tourist bazaars. In this labyrinth of streets and passages are more than 4,000 shops with each trade having its own area: the goldsmiths’ street, the carpet sellers, Turkish arts and crafts, such as hand-painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, water ewers, onyx-ware and meerschaum pipes.

Day 10Bosphorus, Beylerbeyi Palace & Spice Market (Breakfast)

Enjoy your Breakfast meal at the hotel then get ready for today’s tour. We will pick you up at 08:30 AM, so we depart for the Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise and Shopping Tour.

The first visit of the day will be to Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), whereas the air is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice.

The Bosphorus by boat, a traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion, you will see the magnificent sights of the following attractions from your boat. See Dolmabahce Palace, and further along, the parks and imperial pavilions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park, is Ciragan Palace, 300 meters of its marble facade faces the shore. At Ortakoy a great variety of artists gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortakoy is a symbol of tolerance, with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries.

We also visit Rumeli Fortress, built by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1452 prior to the conquest of Istanbul, was completed in only four months to control and protect the infamous Bosphorus passage. It is one of the most beautiful works of military architecture anywhere in the world.

Our next visit of the day will be to the Beylerbeyi Palas (PALACE), the summer residence of Ottoman sultans exists in its original renovated glory featuring original antique furniture and magnificent gardens with the Harem on the Asian side of Istanbul.

It is also a nice chance to try the Bosphorus Bridge, where you can enjoy a unique chance to step from one continent (Asia) to another (Europe), the Camlica Hill, the highest point in Istanbul. At the top of it you can rest and admire the magnificent panorama of Istanbul and the Bosporus from the beautiful gardens, landscaped in traditional Turkish Ottoman style.

Finally, we have a Shopping Tour (after cruise) to experience the traditional silk weaving skills of Turkish women at the carpet weaving courses provided by the Ministry of National Education. You will get the opportunity to see jewellery, handcrafts center and a modern leatherwear show. Enjoy the experience of shopping whilst gaining the knowledge of the ancient craftsmen, with full of knowledge about how to haggle in the streets of Istanbul.

You will be having a cruise in the Marmara Sea to Istanbul’s famous Princess’s Islands. This is your opportunity to see Topkapi Palace, Leander’s Tower and Uskudar from the sea.

You will have a stop at Buyukada, the popular summer resort with sandy beaches and pinewood scenery, once the pleasure island of Byzantine Princes. During Summer, you will enjoy the magical atmosphere that the Island’s beach resort has to offer, including lots of optional water sporting activities.
