Itinerary

You will arrive at the Cairo Airport and once you land in Egypt, GAT Tours representative will be waiting for you to assist you with everything you may need from the required papers at the airport till answering all the questions you have about the whole trip.

He will transfer you with air conditioned vehicles to your chosen hotel in Cairo to check in and get some rest after such a long flight.

Overnight in Cairo.

Enjoy the most delicious breakfast in Cairo at your beloved hotel then get ready to Join your Egyptologist Tour Guide in your first journey on the land of Egypt.

The journey will begin at the greatest site in Giza, the famous 3 pyramids of Giza. You will enjoy getting so close to those huge pyramids, the ones for Cheops, Chephren, Mycrenos. This is plus seeing the interesting statue of Sphinx which was made with the lion’s body and human’s head. You can enjoy the desert time by riding camels and tour the whole site around the pyramids and Sphinx.

From the most famous pyramids in Egypt to the first pyramid ever built in the whole world which is the Step Pyramid of Zoser at Saqqara city. You will also have the chance to visit the Pyramid Of King Titi that has many of the pyramid texts inside plus visiting many ancient tombs dating back to the Old Kingdom like the tomb of Ti or Mereruka.

After this long and interesting tour, you will need to get some rest and enjoy your lunch meal at one of the best Egyptian restaurants in town.

Let’s continue the tour today by visiting the first capital of ancient Egypt, Memphis city. This city used to be called as the city of God Ptah and king Narmer chose this city specially to be the first capital of unified Egypt. You will enjoy exploring the open museum and the Colossal statue of King Ramses II.

Now it’s the time to get back to your hotel in Cairo for some rest and refreshment.

Evening time will be free at liseur or you can choose the Alternative Optional Sound & Light show which will get presented at the Pyramids Of Giza by the charming Sphinx himself (This can only be offered upon request)

Overnight in Cairo (Breakfast – Lunch)

Start your day with a fresh breakfast at your hotel and get ready for today’s journey.

Your Egyptologist tour guide will take you on a very interesting tour to one of the most important Museums in the world, the Egyptian Museum. The museum hosts a huge collection of Pharaonic Antiquities dating back to various periods of time. You will enjoy your time visiting the golden treasures of TutAnkhAmun and many other great items.

Enjoy your Lunch meal now at a local restaurant in Cairo.

After Lunch, you can continue this interesting tour by visiting Islamic Cairo which includes the famous Citadel Of Salah El Dien. This great fortress hosts the Alabaster Mosque Of Mohamed Ali which is the largest mosque built in the Ottoman style in Cairo.

Then to the Coptic Cairo part which includes various churches and historical sites like the hanging church.

After a long and fruitful tour, you will get back to your hotel in Cairo to get some rest.

Your Evening time will be free time on your own, or you can choose our Optional Dinner Nile cruise including many entertaining shows while sailing in the Nile for around 2 hours. (can be offered upon request)

ُEnjoy your breakfast first at the Hotel then meet your Egyptologist tour guide to go for today’s trip.

You will be having a special tour inside the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo which hosts around 104,000 displays. During your tour inside the museum you will witness the greatness of the Islamic civilization in Egypt over the years.

Then you will move to visit the Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrassa which is one of the best examples of Islamic Architecture.

And of course you can’t miss visiting Ibn Tulun Mosque & Keritlia House plus touring the Gayer Anderson Museum

Now it’s your Lunch time to enjoy some local Egyptian food.

After lunch you can go shopping at Khan El Khalili Market in T El Moez street. This is the most popular tourist market in the world where you will be able to buy souvenirs and gifts for all your beloved people. This market was built during the Mamluks era in the 14th century.

Later on you will head to the Giza train station for departure to Luxor by night Sleeper Train

Dinner and Overnight on board of the train (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

Your breakfast meal will be served to you in the morning on board your Sleeper train.

You will arrive at Luxor city and meet our tour representative who will take you directly to your hotel to get some rest.

After getting some energy you will start your tour at the West Bank of Luxor. By visiting one of the most attractive sites in Luxor, the Temple of Madinet Habu.
This temple is one of the best preserved temples of ancient Egypt as it was built by the famous king Ramses III. This charming huge temple has attractive decorations full of beautiful colors that you can see clearly until today.

Next, you will be visiting the Deir El Medina or as it used to be called the village of the workers who constructed the whole marvelous monuments of Luxor city. The village was discovered in the 16th century BC, and you can see the village outline clearly until today. Inside the village you can see some ancient tombs that were decorated with amazing colors to present the daily life scenes for ancient Egyptians. The most famous tombs of the village are Sennedjem and the tomb of Ramose.

Let’s have a unique ending for the day by visiting the Ramesseum which was the mortuary temple of the great king, Ramses II. It was constructed in the 13th century. Inside this temple you can see some colossi for the king.

After finishing your tour at these interesting sites you will be having your Evening time at your hotel on your own to explore the city more like Markets and the beautiful streets along the Cornish of the Nile River. There will also be an Alternative tour to the Sound & Light show at Karnak temples, but this can be offered only upon request.

You will then get back to your Hotel to relax and spend the night. (Breakfast)

Enjoy your breakfast time at your beloved hotel Hotel then get all the passion inside you to go for our optional tour to enjoy the Hot Air Balloon ride where you will be flying like birds over Luxor city. (This can be offered upon request).

At Noon, you will transfer with a private van to your Nile Cruise where you will Check in and enjoy the most delicious Lunch meal ever.

You will continue this amazing journey by touring the great sites on the Nile River of Luxor city which will begin with the best temple in town, the Karnak temple. This amazing ancient temple has got a touch from many great pharaohs at that time as many kings participated in its construction which made it a great temple through history.

Then you will head to visit another great ancient temple which is the temple of Luxor. This majestic Pharaonic temple has suspended mosaïcs that present lots of scenes from ancient Egypt.

At the end of the day you will be heading to your ship to enjoy your Dinner meal in the middle of the Nile and to get a relaxing night. (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

You will have today’s Breakfast on board your Nile Cruise before you start discovering the West Bank of Luxor city.

The Valley of The Kings is your first visit for today as it’s a very unique and charming site full of fascinating ancient tombs from ancient Egypt. This site was made specially for the kings from the New Kingdom to be their royal burial site. You will have 3 royal tombs to visit in your tour.

This fantastic tour will be completed when you visit the charming temple of El Dear El Bahri. This temple was made by queen Hatshepsut in the 18th dynasty to be a masterpiece today. The Temple hosts many terraces and the statues for the Queen with a beard.

To the next visit for today which is the Colossi of Mammon. This site consists of two huge statues that were built in 1350 BC and were remaining from the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III.

It’s lunch time now, you will get back to your cruise to enjoy some delicious Egyptian food while sailing towards Edfu city crossing the Esna lock.

Youw Dinner meal will be served on board then you will be enjoying the night in the middle of the Nile. (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

Good Morning, it’s now breakfast time to enjoy some oriental Egyptian food on board.

The Temple of Horus in Edfu city will be the first place to visit in today’s tour. This temple was built on the same track of the Graeco Roman temples and it’s one of the unique temples built with Sandstone blocks. It was originally built during the Ptolemies era in the 3rd century BC in order to worship the god Horus.

Once the tour at this charming temple ends, you will get back to your Nole cruise to continue sailing towards Kom Ombo city while enjoying your Lunch meal on board.
Your visit in Kom Ombo city will be so special as you will be visiting the most famous temple of Kom Ombo. The construction of the temple was started in the Ptolemaic period and was completed in the Roman era which made the temple divided into two sections to worship two different gods. Once section for the local crocodile god, Sobek, and the famous eagle god, Haroeris.

Tonight, you will be sailing towards the city of Gold, Aswan city. You will be selling while enjoying your dinner meal and having some fun at the Galabeya party.

Overnight in Aswan (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

The most delicious breakfast meal will be waiting for you on board to enjoy it with the charming views of the Nile.

Later on, you will go on a small road trip to visit the amazing city of Abu Simbel which is on the south of Aswan. The first site and the most important one will be the Abu Simbel Temple which is one of the greatest achievements of the ancient Egyptians as it was built by Ramses II. The temple was made out of rocks and through the years it was buried under the sand until we discovered it in the 19th century.

After such a remarkable tour in Abu Simbel city, you will drive back to Aswan city to reach your beloved hotel,Movenpick Aswan Hotel.

Your afternoon time will be full of fun as you will enjoy a felucca ride around the Islands. Then you will get back to the Hotel to spend the night in Aswan (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

Enjoy your breakfast meal at your hotel in the morning then get ready to check out your hotel in Aswan and get ready for today’s interesting visits.

You will start with the greatest achievement of Egypt in 1960, the High Dam. The Dam was constructed by the Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser in order to store the extra water of the Nile flood and also to generate electricity.

Your next destination will be to the beautiful temple of Philae which was built in order to worship Goddesses Isis and Hathor. It’s now one of the famous temples in Egypt that has great heritage.

You will drive back now to Aswan Airport in order to catch your domestic flight back to Cairo.

Once you arrive at Cairo, you will meet our tour representative who will take you directly to your hotel to spend the night.

Overnight in Cairo (Breakfast)

Enjoy your breakfast meal in the morning at your Hotel before checking out and getting ready to leave the lands of Egypt.

You will head to Cairo International Airport to catch your flight back home carrying lots of great memories about each part of Egypt. (Breakfast)

Trip of a lifetime We just got back from a family "trip of a lifetime" to Egypt: 3 couples arrived in Cairo from different parts of US and Canada, at different flights and times, and yet the reception and arrival coordination and documents arrangement could not have been smoother. All was arranged, and the trip was custom designed by Ahmet from GAT Tours. We were a bit apprehensive considering the issues in the Middle East, but really there never has been a moment of concern and a complete feeling of safety as we were chauffeured, flown and sailed to the various destinations of this great country of Egypt. We visited the important sites around Cairo : the fantastic, new, Grand Egyptian Museum, the pyramids, the Sphinx, Civilization Museum, the market, Citadel, and other sites. Our hotel was first class. Our voyage down the Nile from Luxor was in upgraded suites (courtesy of GAT) on top of the line Sonesta Cruise line : gourmet meals in absolute comfort! We were lucky to have Asmaa in Cairo and Simon in Luxor and Aswan to guide us through the exhilarating sites of Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings, Kim Ombo, Edfu, Abu Simbel etc. in a very knowledgeable and entertaining fashion. Cairo and Nile Cruise This was an excellent tour! GAT Tours planned every detail and was very accommodating. We were initially going to cancel the tour considering the recent instability in the Gulf Region, however, the tour manager (Ahmed Omar) ensured our safety. We felt very safe in the hands of our tour guides (Asmaa - in Cairo and Simon in Luxor/Aswan). Both tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, personable, engaging, and advised us well on how to save time and money at the various sites and markets. Strongly recommend Asmaa and Simon as tour guides! Our travel/logistics person (Seif) was also great. He ensured our transportation, pick-ups, and meals were all on time. Everyone operating the tour was accessible and responsive via iPhone. The tour guides really showed us how rich their culture (ancient or modern) is. Highly recommend this tour: Six adults (incl. 2 seniors). My personal favorites: Valley of the Kings, GEM, and any of the evening tours of the temples!

Good experience overall It’s a mixed review of the tour and I will divide it into office staff and guide & drivers. Ahmed Omar in Cairo office helped us with our 5 days-Nile cruise and associated sightseeing. He was very prompt, polite and professional. As we didn’t get the morning flight on the day of our cruise, Ahmed helped us book a Luxor hotel for the night before. He also asked us for a personal favour and we obliged. Ahmed was thoughtful and offered to arrange ‘meet and greet’ at Cairo airport, in addition to the pick up on our return to Cairo after the cruise. Mr Mina met us at Cairo airport for helping with visa, Sim and money exchange. Despite Ahmed’s assurance that we would be helped with exchanging money, Mr Mina was walking out without doing that. When my wife pointed that out, he tried to blame us for not reminding him, which was not very nice! At Luxor airport, we were expecting My Ayman, but someone else came, which is fine. He was helpful and went to the hotel with us and next morning picked us up from hotel and dropped us at the cruise. We chose Sonesta star goddess for our trip and Ahmed had arranged everything. The guide Mohamed Refaat met us at 3pm. He said was a freelancer, and that he was given to us because he is a close friend of Mr Ayman. We found difficult to understand his English initially and his knowledge was just ok. He spent 20 minutes outside the Karnak temple talking about canals etc and as a result we had to rush at the end. He didn’t offer to take photos, but obliged whenever we asked. He repeated himself a lot and was not very interesting or engaging. We did think of calling the office to change him but didn’t. In Aswan, he said that we should pay for the felucca ride which was included. And then went on to say that we should pay the driver as he is not paid well and that we have to spend a lot during our Abu Simbel trip. On the final day, Mohamed went to our cruise reception and asked the person to give us an envelope and then turned around and told me to give them tips, before he leaves. That was very disrespectful behaviour and we were angry. Then we went to Abu Simbel and throughout the journey, he mostly chatted with the driver or slept. The driver, Kareem, was holding his phone with his left hand and talking while driving on the highway, which we found quite scary. Despite clearly telling Mohamed that we will not take out money using our card and that we will exchange money when we return to Aswan, after our trip finishes, he kept asking us to take money out throughout the day whenever he saw an ATM, very irritating behaviour. It left us with a bad taste. On the positive side, he was always on time, was friendly and did the basics. There were other little negative things like the car didn’t have water or tissue box, though it was sorted after informing Ahmed twice. It would have been good if someone from Gat tour contacted us directly to see if we were ok. We had to keep texting Ahmed for all minor issues, and he was always prompt. The representatives for Aswan airport and then again at Cairo airport were all on time and professional. So overall it was good. Gat tours is recommended but the guide Mohamed is definitely not.

The best! Highly recommended! 10 out of 10 The best. Seamless from start to finish. Nothing is too much. Excellent communications. We did the Renaissance 5 day river cruise from Luxor to Aswan. 4 of us. We had our own knowledgeable and very solicitous guide who accompanied us throughout the cruise. GAT also met us at the airport and in Luxor to take us to the boat and introduce us to our tour guide. Everything on time, with clear communication. GAT also booked us the Elite sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor. Their cost was was very reasonable and it was a fabulous experience: a wonderful, clean and well designed compartment with excellent service, they even provided slippers! Mr Omar, one of the managers, based in Cairo, was superb in choreographing our entire trip. Thank you GAT
