Your shore excursion in Egypt is one of the most common trips in Egypt, it starts when your cruise ship docking at Safaga Port in Red Sea and drive by the eastern desert to one of the most attractive cities in the World Luxor – stands proudly on the Nile with all its temples, sanctuaries and tombs.
In your Luxor stop over, you will enter the world of the pharaohs, contemplate the colorful royal tombs at the valley of the Kings and meet the ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses in their sanctuaries and seeing the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut in the West bank in Luxor also the legendry Colossi of Memnon.
Spend your night in one of the most beautiful hotels in Luxor overlooking the eternal River Nile is an unforgettable relaxing experience; its fresh water gently embraces the shores of the green fertile fields and the pretty palm trees, while the soft sands of the desert stand at the back of the scene.
Next day explore the magnificent temples of Karnak and Luxor is such amazing experience and drive back to Safaga Port to board your Cruise ship for the next destination after so much memories in Egypt that made your stop over is unforgettable story.
Morning time, Your Cruise ship will dock in Safaga – Egypt, you will be met with GAT Tours’ representative, your best friend for the 2 days in Egypt who will help and assist you with all formalities. We will then leave the port of Safaga and start driving to Luxor by private air-conditioned vehicle crossing the western desert “distance about 250 km” takes about 3 hours driving.
Upon arrival to Luxot, you’ll be met with our professional Egyptologist who will accompany you in such amazing tour including the Valley of the Kings, the richest and most fascinating ancient tombs in Egypt. This was the burial site of the kings from the New Kingdom. This includes the marvelous tomb of Tutankhamen, discovered intact by Howard Carter in 1922 as the most important archeological discovery in the 20th century. The tombs are featured with marvelous wall painting which survived until today.
Time to stop for Lunch at local restaurant then the next visit will be to the Temple of Deir El Bahari, which was constructed during the reign of the 18th dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest rulers of Egypt. The Temple is featured with its many terraces, the statues of the Queen with a beard, and its magnificent location carved out of one of the great mountains of Thebes.
Our last visit at the West Bank will be to the Colossi of Memnon, these two huge statues are the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III constructed in 1350 BC and became a landmark of Luxor afterwards.
After finishing this full day tour exploring the amazing collection of Luxor’s treasures, we will transfer you your hotel and check in for One night – Overnight in Luxor (Lunch)
Breakfast meal will be served at your hotel then We will then proceed to the East Bank of Luxor, where we can visit Temple of Karnak, the largest Pharaonic temple complex in the world. Constructed over a period of more than one thousand years, almost all the impressive items of the Karnak we see today date back to the new kingdom specially the huge amazing columns of the hypostyle hall which are constructed by Ramses II, the greatest builder of ancient Egypt.
Finally, we will visit the Luxor Temple, another startling temple which was established around the 14th century BC and the construction continued for many years afterwards by Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and many other Pharaohs. The temple is featured with its variety of design outlines and architecture. This is besides the huge two statues of Ramses II which ornaments the façade of the temple.
After finishing your day tour, we will be transferred by our private air-conditioned vehicle to Safaga Port to catch up your Mediterranean cruise ship after spending splendid two-day tours in Egypt visiting the amazing treasures of Luxor. (Breakfast)
