Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Cairo

Once you reach Cairo International Airport, you will be meeting GAT Tours’ representative who will be your main assistance during your stay in Egypt. 

Now you will be heading towards your preferred hotel in Cairo to check in and get some relaxing time at your new room after a long flight from the other side of the world.

Day 2Giza Pyramids, Sakkara & Memphis

In the morning you will be having your first breakfast in Cairo at your beloved hotel. Then our professional Egyptologist will be taking you on an amazing trip in Cairo city. 

Today you will be discovering all the historical facts, the fabulous legends, and the amazing stories of ancient Egypt and you will start with The Pyramids of Giza. This wonderful site was constructed around 2500 BC in the 4th dynasty. You will find the grand pyramid of Cheops, the middle one for Khafre, and the last pyramid is for Menkaure. This is plus the sharming status of the sphinx that was constructed directly in front of the 3 pyramids to be the main guide for them. What is interesting about the sphinx is that it contains the body of a lion and the head of a human which creates crazy and attractive statues. 

Next, you will be heading to Saqqara city. What makes this city famous is that it was the main royal burial site during the 3rd dynasty. Most of the kings from the old Kingdom were buried there, which makes it archeologically rich. The main highlights of this city is the Step Pyramid of Djoser which is considered the oldest surviving piece of stone in the whole world and also it was the first pyramid to be built in Egypt even before the pyramids of Giza, this is because it was constructed in the 27th century BC. A place like this should be on the top of your list.

Last but not least, you will pass by the marvelous city of Memphis, this city is unique because it was the first capital of unified Egypt. It was established by King Narmer who was able to unify Upper and Lower Egypt in the 32nd century BC. The city was able to stay the capital of Egypt for more than 10 centuries.

Now, it’s lunch time, you will be enjoying this meal at one of the best local restaurants in Egypt.

Then you will get back to your hotel to have some rest and relax in your own room. 

But at night, thighs will be different, as we will offer you an optional visit to the sound & light show at Giza pyramids. This is an amazing show performed by the startling sphinx itself to tell you everything about the mysterious ancient history of the pyramids. This can happen by using amazing sounds and light effects. 

Finally, you will spend a relaxing night at your hotel in Cairo.

Day 3Museum Citadel Old Cairo

Enjoy your breakfast meal  in the early morning before starting today’s adventure in Egypt. 

Our expert tour guide will be joining you on a great tour in the city center of Cairo where you will be exploring The Egyptian Museum. This Museum is famous for having the largest collection of ancient Egyptian history in the whole world. There are various amazing monuments to visit there, but the main highlights are the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, amazing big reliefs, and lots of statues.

Next, You will be heading to the Coptic Cairo to explore the most remarkable historical churches in Egypt like the Hanging Church and many other historical sites and Holy churches

Now you will be having your lunch at a local restaurant in Egypt to enjoy the Egyptian food. 

After gaining some energy at lunch, we will get ready to discover the main Citadel of Egypt. This amazing structure was built during the region of Saladin and that’s why it is called the citadel of Saladin. Saladin constructed this fortress in the 10th century to protect Egypt for the animes. Inside the citadel itself you will have a great time visiting  its impressive Mosques like Mohamed Ali Mosque, and El Nasser Mohamed Mosque, this is besides many  interesting museums to know more and more about Egypt. At the end of your visit inside the citadel don’t forget to take some pictures for the memory of the amazing panoramic views for the city of Cairo.

Finally, your day is over and you will be heading now on a private A/C vehicle to Giza train station in order to catch your Sleeper train towards Aswan, the city of gold.  

You will be spending your night at the train while enjoying the greenery road of Egypt.

Day 4Dam Philae Obelisk

You will be enjoying your breakfast meal on board the train then get ready to reach Aswan city with your train at 08:30 AM. 

Our local representative will welcome you in Aswan, then he will take you from Aswan train station to the location of your Nile Cruise ship where your adventure will begin. 

Check in the Nile Cruise and go to enjoy your lunch meal on board with the amazing nile view. 

Your first destination in Aswan will be to the High Dam. This huge project was built by the former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1960s in order to store the water from the flood of the River Nile and also to generate a large volume of the electricity of Egypt. 

It’s now the time to ride a motorboat to reach Agilika Island where you will be discovering the amazing Philae Temple. This temple was built for the worship of goddess Isis because it was constructed during the Greco Roman era in the 3rd century BC. This amazing temple was reallocated after the construction of the High Dam to be rescued from any water damage caused by the Nile river flood. UNESCO was the great savior for many historical monuments including the Philae Temple.

The last visit of the day should be more unique, that’s why you will be exploring the Unfinished Obelisk. This amazing site would have been the largest piece of stone in the world just if ancient Egyptians completed it. However it still documents the miraculous construction process of obelisks in ancient Egypt and especially during the New Kingdom.

After a long day tour, you will return back to your Nile cruiser to have some rest and refreshment. 

During the afternoon, you will be having free time on board in order to relax beside the pool on the sundeck and enjoy the incomparable view of the River Nile. 

Evening time will be more unique as you will have the opportunity to go for an optional tour to the sound and light show at Philae Temple. You will know there the full story of the goddess Isis and her husband Osiris in a marvelous sound a light show. 

After enjoying this show, you’ll get back to your Nile cruise ship to have your dinner meal and enjoy a relaxing night in the middle of the Nile.

Day 5Kom Ombo and Edfu

An energizing breakfast meal will be served on board with the charming views of the Egyptian Nile and sky.

Then your ship will be sailing towards the Temple of Kom Ombo that was constructed to be dedicated to two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. This was why the temple was divided into two sections; one for each god. They started the construction in this building in the Ptolemaic period and completed in the Roman era.

While having your lunch meal on board, your ship will be sailing towards the city of Edfu. whereas we will meet the Temple of Horus which was one of the finest preserved temples in ancient Egypt . This temple was built for the worship of the god Horus by the Ptolemies in the 3rd century BC.

You will be having your evening free at leisure to enjoy the Egyptian folklore show on the ship, this may include a belly dancer and many other entertaining performances. But if you want some changes, we will offer you an optional visit to the sound & light show at Temple of Edfu. This wonderful show will tell you everything about the ancient Egyptian secrets through a startling sound and lights show which is enjoyed by everybody. Usually it depends on the cruise schedule, as some cruisers don’t have an overnight in Edfu.

Day 6West Bank of Luxor

Today’s morning you will have free time to enjoy your own company, or you will have a golden chance to go on an optional adventure to try a Hot-air Balloon ride. You will be experiencing how to fly in the luxor sky and enjoy the amazing views of the city.

 

Let’s get back to your hotel to enjoy the delicious breakfast before continuing our adventure at the West bank of Luxor or as it is known, the city of the dead. 

 

Your first visit in luxor will be to the Valley of the Kings. This amazing site hosts the most fascinating ancient tombs in Egypt as it was the burial site of the kings from the New Kingdom. You can visit the charming tomb of Tutankhamen which was the greatest discovery in the 20th century. Howard Carter was the one who discovered this tomb in 1922 and he found marvelous wall paintings inside the tomb which still survived until today.

The Temple of Deir El Bahari will be your next visit today. This amazing temple belonged to Queen Hatshepsut, when she was the ruler of Egypt she could have built it in the 18th dynasty. Her Temple was featured with many amazing terraces and lots of statues for the Queen with a beard. This temple is a masterpiece you must visit.

Our last visit at the West Bank will be to the Colossi of Memnon, these two huge statues are the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III constructed in 1350 BC and became a landmark of Luxor afterwards.

You will be having your delicious lunch meal on board then you will enjoy your Afternoon tea while relaxing on the sundeck facing the amazing view of the Nile.

At night, we will enjoy the funniest party called “Galabeiya Party” or you can listen to an international music and relax.

Day 7East Bank of Luxor

Don’t miss your wonderful buffet breakfast on board before starting to explore the east bank of Luxor. 

You will be visiting the great Karnak Temple which is  the best preserved Pharaonic temple in the world. All the impressive items of the Karnak date back to more than one thousand years for the new kingdom. This made the temple very important and impressive to visit. 

Next, you will be discovering the great Luxor Temple which is the second startling temple you have to visit in luxor. The building of this temple was special as it was built by Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and many other Pharaohs during  the 14th century BC. This is besides the huge two statues of Ramses II which ornament the façade of the temple.

The most comfortable vehicle will be awaiting you afterwards to take you to the Luxor train station in order to catch your Sleeper Train back to Cairo. 

You will be having your Dinner meal on the train and then spend a special night until you reach Cairo.

Day 8Free at Leisure in Cairo

You will be having your breakfast meal on board the train until you reach Cairo at approximately 06:30 AM. 

Our representative will take you with a private A/C vehicle to your hotel in Cairo for check in, rest and refresh. 

Your rest of the day will be free at leisure to enjoy the Egyptian capital on your own doing some shopping, exploring the city streets, or just chilling out for the rest of the excitements yet to come.

At night, free at leisure on your own in Cairo or you can have our optional to a Nile Cruise Dinner. You will be having there the most delicious open buffet, a Tanoora show, a belly dancing performance, live music, and remarkable views of the river Nile. 

Then get back to your hotel to have a relaxing sleepy night.

Day 9Flight to Amman

Start your day with a refreshing breakfast then Check out the hotel to go with our English-speaking representative to Cairo International Airport. You will be taking your flight to Amman, the capital of Jordan and the biggest city in the country. 

Upon your arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, our local representative in Jordan will be waiting to help you during your stay in Jordan. 

Later on, you’ll be heading towards your hotel in Amman for check in and overnight.

Day 10Jerash Citadel of Amman Roman Theatre of Amman

After having your delicious breakfast meal at your hotel, you will be heading to your first destination in the Middle East for today. 

You will go on a road trip that takes around 45 minutes to the city of Jerash which is located 48 kilometers to the south of Amman. This historical city was constructed during the Greco Roman period in the 4th century BC by Alexander the Great. 

Your visits in Jerash will begin by exploring the Hadrian’s Arch that was built in the 1st century BC by the Roman Emperor Hadrian. This amazing building is considered a huge arched passageway gate as it is around 11 meters high. 

Next, you will pass by the Hippodrome of Jerash that dates back to the 1st century. The Roman soldiers have taken this place to be their training spot and have their horse races. This building used to hold a large number of audience as it is 244 X 52 meters. 

To continue the tour of Jerash, you will explore the Cathedral of Jerash which was built in the 4th century BC in the Roman period. 

Then to the Jerash Museum that has hosted a large number of archeological findings since 1932. Don’t miss discovering also the Southern Theatre of Jerash as they was built in the 1st century AD and it can accommodate up to 3000 spectators.

Let’s continue the tour at the Eastern Theatre of Jerash, which is still used until today to host musical concerts and cultural events and it takes up to 1500 people. 

Once the tour is over, you will get back to Amman to explore the Citadel of Amman, established in the 16th century BC and it has ruins and monuments that date back to the Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyads periods.

You will also visit the Temple of Hercules, one of the largest and best preserved Roman temples in the world which was constructed in the 2nd century AD. 

Afterwards you will pass by the Umayyad Palace, which dates back to the 7th century AD and was constructed on the ruins of some Roman establishments.

Now let’s move on to visit the Roman Theatre of Amman, which dates back to the 2nd century AD and it accommodates more than 5000 spectators and it is the largest theatre in Amman until today.

Your last visit of the day will be to the Amman Museum, which hosts a huge number of displays dating to different eras of the Jordanian history. 

After such a fruitful tour, you will be heading back to your hotel in Amman to spend your night.

Day 11Madaba Mount Nebo Dead Sea

Enjoy your breakfast meal at your hotel in Amman first thing in the morning, then get ready to go with a modern vehicle to Madaba city which is located 30 kilometers to the South West of Amman. 

This amazing city is famous for its remarkable Roman and Umayyad monuments. Your first visit in this city will be to the St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, it’s famous for its notable mosaics with scenes from many spots in the world including Jerusalem, some towns in Amman and Palestine, and also there are scenes from the River Nile in Egypt. 

To proceed with this interesting trip, you will go to visit the Nebo Mountain that is situated more than 6000 meters above the sea level. You will enjoy the amazing scenes of the whole area besides its religious significance for Christians and Muslims.

Next, you will head to visit the Dead Sea which is the lowest point on the whole earth. The Dead Sea has a salty closed lake with a surface area that is more than 650 kilometer square. It’s featured with its high level of salts and minarets that is very useful to heal from many diseases and provide you with a marvelous feeling of relaxation. 

Afterwards you will drive towards Petra, one of the most amazing historical sites in the world that’s established in the 3rd century BC. 

Once you arrive in Petra, you will check in at your hotel and get a relaxing night.

Day 12Full Day Petra

After having the most delicious breakfast, you will be ready to explore the wonders of the ancient city of Petra. 

Your first visit in Petra will be to the Treasury which is the most astonishing building in the city. This amazing hewn into the rock used to host many treasures that will blow your mind. 

You will continue the tour by visiting the theatre of Petra, which is also hewn into the rocks and it used to host more than 8000 people in ancient times.

Then, to the Monastery of Petra that is one of the most impressive monuments of Petra dates back to the 1st century AD. This is one of the oldest surviving monasteries in the whole world. You will definitely have to visit this place at least once in your life. 

After exploring many other sections of the amazing ancient city of Petra, we will get back to Amman where you will check in your hotel and spend tonight in your new room.

Day 13Depart to Jerusalem

Check out the hotel after having your breakfast then get ready to head towards Jerusalem. 

This unique city is one of the most important spiritual and religious centers in the whole world. You will start today’s visits by exploring the Wailing Wall, one of the walls surrounding the Temple Mount and it is believed by the Jews to be the last remaining section of the Solomon Temple.

Then you will have a great opportunity to visit the Mount Temple which is the holiest section in the world for the Jews who believe it was constructed in the 18th century BC. It also hosts the Dome of the Rock Mosque, which is the second holiest place for Moslems after Mecca.

Don’t miss visiting  the Church of the Holy Sepulture, which is also called the Church of the resurrection. This was believed to be the place where Christ was crucified, buried, and resurrected. 

You will continue this marvelous tour by visiting the Tomb of King David, the king of Israel and the son of Solomon, which is one of the most remarkable religious and spiritual sites to explore.

Let’s end this day by visiting the Room of the Last Supper, which is called the Cenacle and it witnessed many important and significant Christian events during the life of Christ.

Day 14Bethlehem

An energizing breakfast will be served to you at your hotel in the early morning. 

If the security conditions of today allow, you will be heading towards Bethlehem city which is located 10 kilometers to the South of Jerusalem. This marvelous city was established as early as the 14th century BC and it is mentioned in the New Testament that it witnessed the birth of Christ.

You will then go to visit the Church of Nativity that was constructed in the 4th century BC by the Roman Empress, Helena. It was damaged in the 6th century by the Samaritans and rebuilt in the 7th century by Justinian I.

The rest of the day will be free at leisure to enjoy the magnificence of the historical city of Bethlehem.

At the end of this interesting tour, you will be having a ride to Ain Karem, which is believed to have had a population since the 2nd millennium BC and it is also recorded that it was visited by the Christ and Virgin Mary many times.
