The trip will start by exploring Cairo and visiting the Pyramids of Giza; Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the most famouse site in Egypt which includes one of the World Seven Wonder (Khufu Pyramid). Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Cairo

Upon arrival to Cairo International Airport, you will be met with GAT Tours’ representative, your best friend for the coming few days, who will help you in passing the passport control and collecting your luggage. Then, you will be transferred to the hotel in Cairo by air-conditioned vehicle with qualified driver. Arrival to your hotel in Cairo, we will check in the hotel within few minutes! Then you will proceed to your nice room for overnight.

Day 2Pyramids, Sakkara and Memphis

Energizing breakfast at the hotel. After that, you will join your English-speaking Egyptologist, who will join you in such awe-inspiring tour to visit the marvelous Pyramids of Giza, constructed around 2500 BC as the necropolis of the kings of the forth dynasty. Also we will see the marvelous sphinx constructed with a body of a lion and the head of a human to guard the pyramids from any threats. Our next visit will be to The Step Pyramid Complex in Sakkara, which is considered to be the oldest surviving stone monument in the whole world and the first proper pyramid to be constructed in ancient Egypt. Enjoy your lunch meal at local restaurant in Cairo. At the end of the tour, we will drive to the city of Memphis to visit The Open Air Museum, which was established in 32nd century BC by King Narmer after he unified Upper and Lower Egypt and became the first capital of the whole country. After finishing your day tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel for rest and refresh. Overnight in Cairo. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 3Al Minya

Breakfast at your hotel in Cairo. Check out to go towards Al Minya to start the second part of the trip. Your guide will accompany you to Al Minya, the jewel of Upper Egypt.
Upon arrival in El Minya, you will start your day tour by visiting Tell El Amarna which is established by king Akhnaten. The name Amarna comes from Beni Amran tribe that lived there.
After finishing your day tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Al Minya for check in and rest. Dinner and overnight in the hotel. (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

Day 4Beni Hassan, Tuna El Gebel & Ashmonien

Breakfast at your hotel. Check out. Then start your second full day in Al Minya. Your first visit will be to the tomb of Beni Hassan, an ancient necropolis that includes many rock-cut tombs. The tombs of this necropolis dated back to the first intermediate period and the middle kingdom of ancient Egypt. The second visit will be to Tuna El Gebel (the city of the dead), it is the largest cemetery of Greaco Roman Egypt. The last visit of this day tour will be to the city of Ashmonien. After finishing your day tour, we will drive back to Cairo. Check in your hotel in Cairo and overnight. (Breakfast)

Day 5Museum, Citadel & Coptic Cairo

Breakfast meal will be served at your hotel. After that, you’ll join your expert tour guide in such awe-inspiring tour in the city center of Cairo. We begin our visits of the day by exploring The Egyptian Museum, the largest museum in the world with a huge collection of displays dating back to various periods of the ancient Egyptian history including the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen. Enjoy your lunch meal at local restaurant. We will then visit the Citadel of Saladin, constructed in the 10th century by Saladin to protect Egypt and became the residence of the rulers of Egypt for a period that lasted more than seven centuries. Finally we will proceed to visit Coptic Cairo Area, including The Hanging Church, the Abu Serga Church and the Church of Saint Mary. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel for overnight. (Breakfast – Lunch)

Day 6Overday Alexandria

Breakfast at your hotel. Later on, you’ll be met with our professional Egyptologist, who will join you in such amazing tour in the wonderful city of Alexandria. Our first visit will be to Library of Alexandria, with the ancient library being established in the 3rd century BC and destroyed in the 1st century BC. The library we see today was opened in 2002. We will visit Roman Amphitheatre, discovered in 1960, the theatre which was established in the 4th century BC with its marble steps is one of its kind in Egypt. We will then visit Qaitbay Citadel (from outside), this citadel was established in the 16th century and became the landmark of Alexandria today. Then visit the cemetery of Catacomb. Later on, we will proceed to have lunch in one of the best local restaurants. After lunch, we will drive back to our hotel in Cairo for overnight. [Breakfast – Lunch]

Day 7Check Out & Departure

Check out after breakfast. Later on, you’ll be met with GAT Tours’ Representative who will transfer you by private air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo International Airport in order to catch your departure flight carrying wonderful memories about your last trip in the land of the Nile, Egypt. [Breakfast]
