Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival to Cairo Int. Airport

Once you reach your final destination at Cairo International Airport, you will meet with GAT Tours’ representative who will be your main assistance during your stay in our beloved Egypt. If you have any questions about your journey in Egypt he will be happy to answer them.

Through an air-conditioned vehicle you will head to your hotel in Cairo to check in and spend a relaxing time after such a long flight from the other side of the world. Get a very well sleep to be ready for tomorrow’s adventures. (No Meals)

Day 2Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, Saqqara Pyramids & Memphis

Start a refreshing day with the most delicious breakfast served at your hotel then get ready to join your professional Egyptologist in your first trip of the day.

This will be to one of the famous sites in Egypt that you can’t miss, it’s The Great Pyramids of Giza. You will get the chance to be that close to the 3 pyramids, the ones were built around 2500 BC. Those 3 pyramids were the royal burial site for the kings Cheops, Khafre and Menkaure. As you’re standing in front of the middle pyramid you can clearly see the sphinx which was constructed with a lion’s body and a human’s head to be the main guard of the pyramids.

Your second destination of the day will be to Saqqara city. This great city was the royal burial site for the kings of the Old Kingdom. The main highlight of this unique city is the Step Pyramid of Djoser which is considered the oldest surviving monument made out of stone in the whole world. This is also considered the first proper pyramid that was ever built in the world even before the pyramids of Giza. you will enjoy your visit to such a unique place.

Let’s end the day with a very special visit to the famous city of Memphis. This city was the first place to be considered the Capital of unified Egypt. King Narmer was able to unify Upper and Lower Egypt and established this city in the 32nd century BC to be the capital of Egypt.

It’s now lunch time where you will have it at one of the best local restaurants in town.

At night you will be spending some free time on your own, or you can come with us on an optional tour to the sound & light show at Giza pyramids. This show is very charming as you will listen to the stories and mysteries of the pharaohs from sphinx himself. All this amazing show will be presented with an entertaining blend of sounds and lights.

Finally, You will get back to your hotel to spend a relaxing night at your beloved room. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 3Fly to Aswan, Check in Nile Cruise, High Dam, Temple of Philae, Unfinished Obelisk

Enjoy a wonderful morning by having a buffet breakfast at your hotel in Cairo.

Once you’re ready, our English-speaking representative will take you on your second journey in Egypt which will be at the charming city of Aswan. You will be heading to Cairo International Airport in order to catch your domestic flight to Aswan city.

Once you arrive at Aswan International Airport, our local representative will be waiting for you to take you directly to your Nile Cruise ship. You will check in the cruise and get ready to enjoy your lunch meal with the charming Nile views.

Let’s end the lunch time and head to your first destination at Aswan city, the High Dam. This construction was the greatest architectural achievement in Egypt at that time which was built in the 1960s by the former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser. The main purpose of the Dam was to store the extra water caused from the Nile flood every year, generating a large volume of the electricity to the whole of Egypt.

You will then get to try a motorboat ride to reach Agilika Island. This Island hosts the marvelous Philae Temple which was constructed in the 3rd century BC during the Greco Roman era. They built it in order to worship the goddess Isis.

The last visit of the day should be very unique and interesting, that’s why you will be visiting the Unfinished Obelisk. This ancient Obelisk is very unique in the shaping and the effort made in the construction, if they were able to complete the Obelisk it would have been the largest piece of stone humans ever dealt with. The Obelisk was built in the New Kingdom and it documents the whole incredible process of the obelisks construction in ancient Egypt.

You will then get back to your Nile cruiser where you will be enjoying your Afternoon to relax beside the pool on the sundeck.

During the Evening you will have a wonderful opportunity to go for an Optional tour to the sound and light show at Philae Temple. During this show you will know the full story of the goddess Isis and her husband Osiris and their famous legend. You will enjoy discovering more about ancient Egyptians in a great entertaining show.

Day 4Kom Ombo and Edfu temples

Let’s get some energy in the morning by having a delicious breakfast on board your Nile Cruise.

You will then get ready to go on today’s trip which will start with a visit to the Temple of Kom Ombo. They started to build this amazing temple during the Ptolemaic period and were able to finish it during the Roman era. That’s why the temple was dedicated to two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris.

Directly after finishing your visit at the temple of Kom Ombo, you will get back to the ship where you will be enjoying your lunch meal with the charming views of the Nile.

Your second visit of the day will be to Temple of Horus in Edfu which is one of the finest preserved ancient Egyptian temples in Egypt. This is because it was constructed by the Ptolemies in the 3rd century BC in order to worship the god Horus. The unique things about the temple, it has marvelous stone columns and fascinating wall carvings.

Your time will be so special by spending it on your own or you can choose our optional tour to attend the Sound & Light show at Temple of Edfu. This is a wonderful chance to know everything about the temple construction with an amazing use of the sound and lights elements.

Day 5West Bank of Luxor

Let’s have a very special morning by enjoying an Optional Hot-air Balloon ride and get a marvelous adventure by flying in the sky of Luxor to explore the whole city with a charming view.

The most delicious breakfast will be waiting for you at your Nile Cruise to get some energy before starting today’s journey.

You will begin today’s trip by exploring the West bank of Luxor which is considered the city of the dead as it hosts lots of marvelous mortuary temples and tombs. The first visit in this city will be to the Valley of the Kings which is the richest site full of ancient tombs for the kings of ancient Egypt from the New Kingdom. This includes the marvelous tomb of Tutankhamen that was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter.

Let’s head to the next visit of the day which will be to the Temple of Deir El Bahari. This temple was constructed by the beautiful pharaoh, Queen Hatshepsut. She built it during the reign of the 18th dynasty and she made it in a very special location as it was carved out in one of the great mountains of Thebes.

Make sure to have an exciting ending of the day by visiting the Colossi of Memnon at the West Bank. It consists of two huge statues that remained from the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III. It was originally constructed in 1350 BC until it became one of the greatest landmarks of Luxor nowadays.

Once the day ends, you will head back to your Nile cruise to have your delicious lunch meal on board.

In the Afternoon, you will enjoy some free time relaxing on the sundeck and facing the amazing view of the Nile. You will have the chance to enjoy the Egyptian folklore show on the ship with many entertaining performances at night.

Day 6East Bank of Luxor - Fly to Cairo

Don’t miss your wonderful buffet breakfast on board your Nile Cruise before Checking out and heading to your next destination.

Today you will be exploring the east bank of Luxor where you will begin visiting the great Temple of Karnak. This temple considered the largest Pharaonic temple complex in the world that was built through one thousand years. The temple hosts lots of interesting items that date back to the new kingdom.

The Luxor Temple will be your second visit of the day where you will discover a building constructed during the 14th century BC. Many different haraohs participated in the construction of this temple including king Ramses II and Queen Hatshepsut.

The most comfortable vehicle will be awaiting you to take you directly to Luxor International Airport in order to catch your domestic flight back to Cairo.

Day 7Egyptian Museum, Coptc Cairo, Citadel Of Saladin & Alabaster Mosque

Enjoy your Breakfast meal at your hotel in Cairo and get ready to start today’s Journey in Cairo city.

You will then join your expert tour guide in a great trip to The Great Egyptian Museum. This museum is considered the largest museum in the whole world as it hosts a huge collection of ancient Egyptian monuments that dates back to various periods of time. Among the highlights of the museum you will enjoy visiting the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, lots of interesting statues, and many other fascinating items.

You will then head to visit the amazing Citadel of Salah Eldin. This great building was built in the 10th century to protect Egypt from any threats. The citadel itself contains many remarkable monuments like the famous Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Mosque of El Nasser Mohamed, and many interesting museums about different eras of Egypt.

Let’s have some rest by enjoying the lunch meal at one of the best local restaurants in town.

Now you will have some free time at Khan El Khalili bazaar which is the largest and most popular tourist market in the world. The market was established by the Mamluks in the 14th century and it is now a wonderful place to buy gifts and souvenirs from Egypt.

After finishing your day tour, you will get back to the hotel to rest and refresh.

At night, you will have some free time to explore Cairo city or you can choose our Optional Nile Cruise Dinner. This will include a delicious open buffet dinner plus amazing shows like Tanoura shows, belly dancing performances and live music. All this charming night will be on board with the remarkable views of the river Nile.

Finally, you will get back to the hotel to spend the night. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 8Alexandria Overday

After breakfast, you will be met with our professional Egyptologist, who will join you in such an amazing tour in the second capital of Egypt or the “bride of the Mediterranean sea”, Alexandria. Distance between Cairo and Alexandria takes around three hours by car. Maybe it is a long time, but really the sites there deserve it.

Begin our tour in Alexandria by visiting the Library of Alexandria, with the ancient library being established in the 3rd century BC and destroyed in the 1st century BC, the library we see today which is a huge wonderful architectural work, was opened in 2002.

Our next visit will be to the Roman Amphitheater, discovered in 1960, the theater which was established in the 4th century BC with its marble steps is one of its kind in Egypt. We will then visit Qaitbay Citadel (from outside), this citadel was established in the 16th century and became the landmark of Alexandria today.

Later on, we will proceed to have lunch in one of the best local restaurants in Alexandria After lunch, we will drive back to Cairo. Arrive in Cairo and proceed to your hotel overnight. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 9Departure from Cairo Int. Airport

Start your last day in Egypt with a delicious breakfast to remember this taste when you get back to your home.
Than you will head to Cairo International Airport through a private A/C vehicle to catch the flight back to your home country after such a remarkable journey at the pharaohs land.

Can I extend my stay at the Nile Cruise to be more than 03 Nights?

Yes, it’s possible and the maximum number of nights in this case will be 07 Nights, starts from Aswan to Luxor and returns back to Aswan. (A Round Trip)
*Although the possibility to make this extension in the total number of nights, we’re still subject to the ship schedule and category. So, if you would like to make this change, we will see the availability of the ship first and inform you with the new total cost.

I would like to book this package but, without all tours and visits during the Nile Cruise, can you exclude all these items and keep the accommodation on board only?

Yes, it’s possible to book only accommodation on board with the meals included.

If I would like to confirm this package but, I need the meal plan during my stay at Cairo to be on (Half/Full Board) basis, can you make this change for me?

Yes, it’s possible to change the meal plan at Cairo hotels but, this will be with an extra charge.

Can I stay at one of Alexandria’s hotels for one night after finishing all its visits or I should return back to Cairo’s hotel to spend this night there?

Yes, you can stay this night at a hotel in Alexandria after making the check-out at Cairo’s hotel a day before and take a private vehicle with us from Alexandria’s hotel to Cairo’s airport directly
*in this case you should inform us with your change decision before confirming the package to avoid the cancellation or change policy of the existing hotel in Cairo and also to check the availability at good hotels in Alexandria.

If I want to book … package with same items but, I would like to change the internal flights with a sleeper train, is it possible to make this change?

For this route, there’s an available sleeper train which will save you 02 Nights of accommodation. But, choosing a train may cause delays or any other inconvenience during your trip.
