Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Cairo (No Meals)

Your adventure will start at Cairo International Airport where you will be meeting your bestgrient for the rest of your trip, GAT Tours’ representative.

He will be your main assistance in anything you may need and the one who will answer all your questions about the whole trip and about Egypt in general.

Then, you’ll be heading towards your chosen hotel in Cairo to check in and get some relaxing time at your new room after such a long flight.

Day 2Giza Pyramids, Sakkara & Memphis (Breakfast & Lunch)

Start your first day in Egypt with the most delicious Egyptian food for breakfast then get ready for a great first adventure with your professional Egyptologist.

Your unique tour in Cairo will start at the most attractive site in the whole of Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza. This site is one of the world’s oldest seven wonders, you will enjoy visiting 3 pyramids that were constructed around 2500 BC as the royal burial site for the kings from the 4th dynasty. You will find there, the pyramid of Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure plus the marvelous statue of Sphinx which was constructed in a lion’s body and a human’s head to guard the pyramids from any threats.

Saqqara city will be your next destination in today’s trip, it was considered the main burial site for the kings of the 3rd dynasty. Each city has its masterpieces that you can’t miss and Saqqara’s masterpiece is the Step Pyramid of Djoser. This pyramid is considered the oldest surviving stone in the whole world and also the first pyramid to be properly made in the history of Egypt as it was constructed in the 27th century BC. In Egypt you will be visiting pyramids from different eras so you can understand the evolution of the pyramids building in ancient Egypt.

It’s now lunch time, you will be enjoying a short break for lunch at one of the best local restaurants in Cairo.

And then, you will be heading to visit Memphis city which is the first capital of unified Egypt. This city was established by King Narmer in the 32nd century BC after he was able to unify Upper and Lower Egypt. This city was the capital of Egypt until the 22nd century. Once you’re in Memphis city, you can’t miss visiting the open-air museum which hosts the New Kingdom monuments like the amazing Colossi of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx, and many other statues and items.

Day 3Mueum, Citadel & Old Cairo (Breakfast & Lunch)

Enjoy your energizing breakfast in the morning before starting today’s adventure in Egypt.

While you’re in Cairo, you have to tour around the city center of Cairo, the downtown. You will enjoy seeing the old buildings there and of course visiting the largest famous Museum in the world, the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. This museum hosts a huge collection of displays dating back to various periods of ancient Egyptian history. The main highlights of the museum are the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, large impressive reliefs, statues, and many other fascinating items.

Next, you will be enjoying the glory of visiting the Citadel of Saladin which is the oldest and the largest building in Cairo. This amazing site was constructed in the 10th century by the ruler of Egypt at that time, Saladin, it was built to protect Egypt from any threats. The citadel itself hosts the most impressive monuments that you better never miss, this includes the famous Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Mosque of El Nasser Mohamed, and many attractive museums.

Having your lunch meal in Cairo will give you a great experience by trying the delicious Egyptian food from local restaurants.

The Old Cairo area is a must visit site, you will be enjoying the Coptic monuments part in Cairo. This part hosts the Hanging Church, which was built in the 5th century to be one of the most important historical churches in Egypt today.

Then to the Abu Serga Church which was built in the 7th century and it is believed that the holy family passed by this place during their journey in Egypt.

The last visit in this amazing part of Cairo will be to the orthodox Church of Saint Mary which was built during the 5th century but it was restored and rebuilt many times until today.

Day 4Islamic Cairo Tour (Breakfast & Lunch)

Don’t miss your breakfast in the morning at your hotel before starting the journey of Today in Cairo city.

TheIslamic Cairo area will be your first destination for today, you will be visiting some impressive mosques, Schools, hospitals and charming old houses! Your visit will begin by exploring the monuments of El Muizz Street which is one of the richest parts of Cairo that hosts fascinating Islamic monuments. Bab El Fetouh will be your first stop, it’s one of the Cairo historical gates that was built in the 11th century.

Then, the El Hakim Mosque will be your next visit. It’s one of the largest historical mosques in the whole of Egypt that was constructed in the 11th century. Also Al Aqmar Mosque will be on your visit list as it’s a wonderful mosque that was built during the Fatimid era with marvelous stone decorations.

Next, you will enjoy having a walk in El Hussein district, where you will enjoy exploring the mosque of El Hussein from outside and discover all the wonders in the same area.

You can’t leave such a charming area without trying the local Egyptian food there, so you will enjoy your lunch meal at one of the best restaurants in El Hussein district.
