Your stunning trip to Egypt begins in Cairo, where you can visit the most unique collection of our fabulous monuments and treasures that date back to different eras.

The first part of your Cairo tour will include the amazing the Pyramids of Giza and the massive limestone statue of Sphinx, which were one of the world’s ancient wonders because of the fantastic design and materials used to erect such a very rare buildings in the desert of the Giza. We will also visit the Step Pyramid of King Zoser in Sakkara and   the open Air Museum of Memphis  in the same day.

We will also have the chance to see the treasures of Pharaonic Egypt at The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in Tahrir Square, where we can see a wonderful collection of the ancient Egyptian art resembling in statues, statutes, palettes, drawings and false heads of the Egyptian kings and the nobles as well. This is besides taking some photos in front of the golden collection of the young king, Tutankhamun, the most famous king in ancient Egypt and the one whose tomb had been found complete!

Here we are exploring the highlights of Cairo. After the tour of the Egyptian Museum, we will proceed to Old Cairo Area, where we will visit the impressive Citadel of Salah Eldin with its Mosque of Mohamed Ali, very similar to the blue mosque in Turkey. However, the last part of Cairo tour will be in Coptic Cairo area, so you can visit some of our historical churches including the Hanging Church, the Church of Abu Serga and the church of St. Mary as well.

The second part of your stunning trip to Egypt will be on the beaches of the Red Sea, where you can explore the wonders of an Egyptian paradise called Sharm El-Sheikh. Enjoy the Red Sea and its wonders, and chance to go on a safari to its surrounding national protectorates; and at night, the city offers a great variety of night life activities in restaurants, bars, coffee shops, discos, nightclubs and more.

After spending few days in Sharm El Sheikh, we will take you to Dahab, another wonderful city on the Red Sea, so you can relax on the pretty beaches of the Sea, going underwater and discover the outstanding corals and colorful fish, hold the widest variety of fun, exciting and crazy water sports, besides diving, snorkeling, sailing, wind and kite-surfing; in addition to having the chance of doing a safari trip to the Sinai Desert hiking its majestic mountain or having a short visit to the well-known  Monastery of Saint Catherine.

Itinerary

If you decide to visit Egypt, you will reach Cairo International Airport where you will meet GAT Tours’ Representative to assist you with everything you may need during your stay in Egypt.

Then he will take you to your hotel in Cairo with a private Air-conditioned vehicle with a qualified driver. Once you reach the hotel, you will check in and proceed to your new room to get some rest after such a long flight.

Meal Plan: No Meals

Don’t miss your Energizing breakfast in the morning before starting your first journey in Egypt.

To start the journey in Egypt, you have to begin by visiting the marvelous site of the Pyramids of Giza. This site is one of the old seven wonders of the world that was constructed around 2500 BC. The pyramids of Giza were considered the royal burial site for the great kings of the 4th dynasty. The 3 pyramids are for the kings Cheops, Chefren, and Mycerinus. There is also the amazing statue of Sphinx located in the same site in front of the pyramids to act as a guard for the pyramids.

Then you will leave the Pyramids area and proceed to visit Saqqara city which was the royal burial site of the 3rd dynasty of the Old Kingdom. This city is one of the best archeological places in Egypt that is full of treasures. The main highlight of this city is the Step Pyramid of Djoser which is the oldest and the first pyramid in the whole world, it was built in the 27th century BC.

The last stop for today will be to Memphis city which was the first capital of unified Egypt. King Narmer was able to build this city in the 32nd century BC when he unified Upper and Lower Egypt. The city was the main capital of Egypt until the 22nd century. However, all the displays exhibited in the open-air museum you will explore today belong to the New Kingdom with the highlights being the amazing Colossi of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx, and many other statues and items.

Later on, you will proceed to have the lunch meal at a local restaurant and after lunch you will drive back to your hotel to rest and refresh.

Evening time, free at leisure to relax at the hotel or to go for an optional tour in Cairo to enjoy your night.

This morning you will have a great breakfast meal full of Egyptian oriental food.

Then your Egyptologist tour guide will join you in a city tour in Cairo that will start with the most famous museum of the Egyptian Museum. This is the largest museum in the world with a huge collection for the ancient Egyptian displays. The main highlights of the museum are the golden exhibits of Tutankhamen, the mummies’ hall, large impressive reliefs, statues, and many other fascinating items.

The next destination will be to the great Citadel of Salah Eldin which was constructed in the 10th century to protect Egypt from any threats. The citadel itself hosts many impressive highlights like the remarkable Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Mosque of El Nasser Mohamed, and many interesting museums.

Then you will take a short break to get your lunch meal at a local restaurant with the delicious Egyptian food.

After lunch you will proceed to the Old Cairo area to visit one of the most important sites in Egypt which hosts some of the most interesting Coptic monuments in the country. The first church of these monuments is The Hanging Church which was constructed in the 5th century.

Another church from the important historical churches in Egypt is the Abu Serga Church. IT was one of the destinations that the holy family passed by during their visit to Egypt. It was built in the 7th century. Then you will head to the Church of Saint Mary which was built in the 5th century to be one of the interesting orthodox churches in Egypt.

After such a fruitful tour in Cairo, you will get back to your hotel to get some rest and refresh.

Your Evening time is yours to relax at the hotel or you can go for an optional tour in Cairo to enjoy your night.

Today you will Check out your hotel in Cairo after enjoying your breakfast meal.

Later on, you will be met with GAT Tours’ Representative, who will take you with a private Air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo Airport in order to catch your domestic flight to Sharm El Sheikh where you will enjoy the second part of your journey to Egypt. This is to be beside the Egyptian beaches of Sharm El Sheikh and Dahab.

Upon arrival at Sharm El Sheikh Airport, you’ll be met with GAT Tours’ local Representative there, who will help and assist you in all formalities at the airport.

You will then be transferred by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh to get some relaxing time at your new room.

The rest of the day is free at leisure on your own for swimming, snorkeling, diving, or even chilling out at the wonderful beaches of the city.

A new day in Sharm El Sheikh enjoying the amazing nature, the wonderful view of the Red Sea and the wonderful rays of the sun! Today you are free at leisure on your own in Sharm El Sheikh for swimming, snorkeling, diving, or even chilling out at the wonderful beaches of the city.

Evening time is yours to relax at the hotel or you can go for an optional tour in Sharm El Sheikh to enjoy your night. For example you can go for an optional BBQ Dinner with Bedouin party in the desert, where you can enjoy the delicious Bedouin BBQ in the marvelous desert mood and enjoy Bedouin music and dances.

Check out after having your breakfast from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh.

Later on, you will drive to the city of Dahab “It takes about 50 minutes to reach Dahab”. Enjoy the road to Dahab with all the colored mountains and the landscape. On arrival at Dahab, you will proceed to your hotel there for check in, rest and refresh.

The rest of the day is free at leisure in Dahab, so you can enjoy its charming atmosphere. Like Sharm EL Sheikh, you can go scuba diving, snorkeling, banana boat ride, etc., besides the optional glass boat trip that will be available upon your request.

A new day in Dahab enjoying the amazing nature, the wonderful view of the Red Sea and the wonderful rays of the sun! It is free on your own in Dahab for swimming, snorkeling, diving, or even chilling out at the wonderful beaches of the city.

Today we can offer a nice Sea trip in Dahab by Yacht, so you can explore our underwater world with many kinds of colored-fish and more other sea creatures. This tour runs on a daily basis, so you can enjoy their stay in this awesome destination of Egypt.

Today is another charming day in Dahab where you can enjoy the wonderful natural views of the Red Sea. You will have some free time to enjoy doing what you prefer, so you can choose from swimming, snorkeling, diving, or to chill out at the wonderful beaches of the city.

Today you can try our optional tour which is a Sea trip in Dahab by Yacht. This experience will give you the opportunity to explore the underwater world with many colorful sea creatures. This tour runs on a daily basis, so you can choose when exactly to take this experience.

Check out from the hotel after having your last breakfast meal in Egypt.

Later on, head to the Sharm El Sheikh Airport with GAT Tours’ Representative in order to catch your domestic flight back to Cairo, where you can catch your international flight for departure from Egypt, with wonderful memories about your last visit to the highlights of The amazing places in Egypt.

Trip of a lifetime We just got back from a family "trip of a lifetime" to Egypt: 3 couples arrived in Cairo from different parts of US and Canada, at different flights and times, and yet the reception and arrival coordination and documents arrangement could not have been smoother. All was arranged, and the trip was custom designed by Ahmet from GAT Tours. We were a bit apprehensive considering the issues in the Middle East, but really there never has been a moment of concern and a complete feeling of safety as we were chauffeured, flown and sailed to the various destinations of this great country of Egypt. We visited the important sites around Cairo : the fantastic, new, Grand Egyptian Museum, the pyramids, the Sphinx, Civilization Museum, the market, Citadel, and other sites. Our hotel was first class. Our voyage down the Nile from Luxor was in upgraded suites (courtesy of GAT) on top of the line Sonesta Cruise line : gourmet meals in absolute comfort! We were lucky to have Asmaa in Cairo and Simon in Luxor and Aswan to guide us through the exhilarating sites of Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings, Kim Ombo, Edfu, Abu Simbel etc. in a very knowledgeable and entertaining fashion. Cairo and Nile Cruise This was an excellent tour! GAT Tours planned every detail and was very accommodating. We were initially going to cancel the tour considering the recent instability in the Gulf Region, however, the tour manager (Ahmed Omar) ensured our safety. We felt very safe in the hands of our tour guides (Asmaa - in Cairo and Simon in Luxor/Aswan). Both tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, personable, engaging, and advised us well on how to save time and money at the various sites and markets. Strongly recommend Asmaa and Simon as tour guides! Our travel/logistics person (Seif) was also great. He ensured our transportation, pick-ups, and meals were all on time. Everyone operating the tour was accessible and responsive via iPhone. The tour guides really showed us how rich their culture (ancient or modern) is. Highly recommend this tour: Six adults (incl. 2 seniors). My personal favorites: Valley of the Kings, GEM, and any of the evening tours of the temples!

Good experience overall It’s a mixed review of the tour and I will divide it into office staff and guide & drivers. Ahmed Omar in Cairo office helped us with our 5 days-Nile cruise and associated sightseeing. He was very prompt, polite and professional. As we didn’t get the morning flight on the day of our cruise, Ahmed helped us book a Luxor hotel for the night before. He also asked us for a personal favour and we obliged. Ahmed was thoughtful and offered to arrange ‘meet and greet’ at Cairo airport, in addition to the pick up on our return to Cairo after the cruise. Mr Mina met us at Cairo airport for helping with visa, Sim and money exchange. Despite Ahmed’s assurance that we would be helped with exchanging money, Mr Mina was walking out without doing that. When my wife pointed that out, he tried to blame us for not reminding him, which was not very nice! At Luxor airport, we were expecting My Ayman, but someone else came, which is fine. He was helpful and went to the hotel with us and next morning picked us up from hotel and dropped us at the cruise. We chose Sonesta star goddess for our trip and Ahmed had arranged everything. The guide Mohamed Refaat met us at 3pm. He said was a freelancer, and that he was given to us because he is a close friend of Mr Ayman. We found difficult to understand his English initially and his knowledge was just ok. He spent 20 minutes outside the Karnak temple talking about canals etc and as a result we had to rush at the end. He didn’t offer to take photos, but obliged whenever we asked. He repeated himself a lot and was not very interesting or engaging. We did think of calling the office to change him but didn’t. In Aswan, he said that we should pay for the felucca ride which was included. And then went on to say that we should pay the driver as he is not paid well and that we have to spend a lot during our Abu Simbel trip. On the final day, Mohamed went to our cruise reception and asked the person to give us an envelope and then turned around and told me to give them tips, before he leaves. That was very disrespectful behaviour and we were angry. Then we went to Abu Simbel and throughout the journey, he mostly chatted with the driver or slept. The driver, Kareem, was holding his phone with his left hand and talking while driving on the highway, which we found quite scary. Despite clearly telling Mohamed that we will not take out money using our card and that we will exchange money when we return to Aswan, after our trip finishes, he kept asking us to take money out throughout the day whenever he saw an ATM, very irritating behaviour. It left us with a bad taste. On the positive side, he was always on time, was friendly and did the basics. There were other little negative things like the car didn’t have water or tissue box, though it was sorted after informing Ahmed twice. It would have been good if someone from Gat tour contacted us directly to see if we were ok. We had to keep texting Ahmed for all minor issues, and he was always prompt. The representatives for Aswan airport and then again at Cairo airport were all on time and professional. So overall it was good. Gat tours is recommended but the guide Mohamed is definitely not.

The best! Highly recommended! 10 out of 10 The best. Seamless from start to finish. Nothing is too much. Excellent communications. We did the Renaissance 5 day river cruise from Luxor to Aswan. 4 of us. We had our own knowledgeable and very solicitous guide who accompanied us throughout the cruise. GAT also met us at the airport and in Luxor to take us to the boat and introduce us to our tour guide. Everything on time, with clear communication. GAT also booked us the Elite sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor. Their cost was was very reasonable and it was a fabulous experience: a wonderful, clean and well designed compartment with excellent service, they even provided slippers! Mr Omar, one of the managers, based in Cairo, was superb in choreographing our entire trip. Thank you GAT
